Value Gadgets

Value Gadgets, refurbished technology with warranty in Australia

Value Gadgets is an Australian retailer specialising in the sale of refurbished computer equipment. Its catalogue covers laptops, desktop computers and mini PCs, mobile phones, tablets and monitors, as well as accessories such as chargers and iPad accessories. The company presents itself as a supplier of certified and tested technology, with prices that, according to its own website, can be up to 70% lower than those of new equipment.

A four-step refurbishment process

The company describes a structured working method for each device it sells. The process begins with complete testing and diagnosis of all hardware components and functionality. The device is then professionally cleaned and restored, and updated with new software. Next, a quality grade is assigned according to its condition, and finally the product is covered by a twelve-month warranty and shipped free of charge the next business day.

Honest grading and 12-month warranty

Value Gadgets classifies each device into one of three condition categories — Excellent, Very Good or Good — so that buyers know in advance what level of preservation they will receive. All devices include a twelve-month warranty, free shipping to any point in Australia and a 30-day change-of-mind return policy. The company also offers a laptop finder that, through six questions about use and budget, shows the available models and explains why they fit in each case.

Catalogue of laptops, desktops and mobile devices

The laptop range is organised by brand — Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple MacBook and Windows devices — and by price range, with a specific section for models under $500. Examples shown on the site included the Dell Latitude 5320, the Dell Latitude 5420, the Dell Latitude 5330 with touchscreen, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T450, with configurations combining Intel Core processors from different generations, between 8 and 16 GB of RAM and 128 to 512 GB SSD storage.

In the desktop and mini PC section, devices such as the Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Tiny, the Dell OptiPlex 7060 and 7070 in SFF format, the HP ProDesk 600 G5 and 400 G6 SFF and the Lenovo ThinkCentre M710t Tower were advertised, with options of 8 GB of RAM and 128 to 512 GB SSDs. The phone section includes iPhone and Samsung, while the tablet section focuses on Apple iPads. Refurbished monitors with DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI and VGA connectors are also offered.

In-person shopping at the Gold Coast showroom

In addition to online sales, Value Gadgets has a showroom in Southport, in the Gold Coast region (Queensland), where customers can see the equipment in person. The site allows you to select in-store pickup during the checkout process and offers the possibility of visiting directly to see the refurbished range. The company handles enquiries by phone and email.
