About The Bardo Health & Wellness

The Bardo Health & Wellness: private mental health and addiction retreat between Brisbane and the Gold Coast

The Bardo Health & Wellness presents itself as a private and confidential health and wellness retreat located between the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions of Australia. Its approach centres on personalised care: the centre limits capacity to a maximum of four guests at a time and provides individualised 1:1 support. The stay takes place in a home-style environment, which the company explicitly describes as different from a clinic and from a hotel.

The organisation operates as a registered NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provider, Australia's support system for people with disability, and offers community residence services and support to participants, families and programme coordinators.

Detox and rehabilitation programs

The centre addresses substance and behavioural addictions. On the substance side, the catalogue includes alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamine, prescription medication dependence and opiate dependence, with pharmacotherapy support. In the behavioural area, the offering covers gambling, gaming, internet, social media, shopping, sex and pornography addiction.

Mental health, stress and burnout

The centre provides support for anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, emotional dysregulation, and stress and burnout. For burnout, it describes support aimed at slowing down, recovering and rebuilding healthy routines. The Executive Reset Program is a structured residential retreat for professionals experiencing high levels of stress, pressure and exhaustion, with the aim of stepping away from daily demands, regaining clarity and restoring balance.

Therapeutic approach and areas of work

The centre's model is organised around three pillars. In mental health, it helps guests explore the interaction between thoughts, feelings and behaviours and develop skills for lasting change. In physical health, it incorporates massage, good nutrition and a personal health plan. In spiritual and psychosocial health, it draws on holistic therapies and counselling to rebuild each client's wellbeing and connection. The company describes its programme as a combination of proven therapy with practical support for physical health, emotional wellbeing and everyday life.

Confidentiality and continuity of recovery

Privacy is one of the stated pillars: the stay remains confidential, records are only shared with the client's permission and are not stored on systems accessible by other agencies or through eHealth records. The address is not disclosed until arrival, to preserve clients' privacy. The centre also stresses that recovery does not end when the stay does: it prepares guests for the return home and provides continued support as they put what they have learned into practice.
