Its team consists of qualified veterinarians and nursing and reception staff, and the clinic presents itself as a professional centre dedicated to the ongoing care of pets throughout their lives.

The clinic covers a wide range of general veterinary care services. The most notable include:

  • Wellness exams
  • Vaccinations and microchipping
  • Surgery
  • X-ray and ultrasound
  • Dental care for dogs and cats
  • Dog grooming

Species treated and service area

The centre routinely treats dogs, cats, rodents, sheep, cattle, reptiles and birds. Although its base is in Port Lincoln, it serves a wider geographical area through visits to remote towns on the Eyre Peninsula.

Emergencies and after-hours care

During opening hours, the clinic prioritises emergency cases and does not require an appointment for them; it recommends that, where possible, someone call ahead so the team can prepare. Outside normal hours, there is a phone manned by an on-call vet each evening, on weekends and on public holidays, in order to guarantee immediate care in an emergency. This after-hours service is intended exclusively for emergencies and incurs additional fees.

Professional team

The veterinary team comprises Dr Murray Cordell, Dr Rowena Leschner, Dr Annie Forrest and Dr Natascha Rothauge. The staff is completed by veterinary nurses Tiarna Stoetzer, Annalise Carey, Bronwyn Cheyne, Ashlee Cocks, Ashleigh Iasiello and Blaise Baldiserra, reception staff Caitlin Biele and Casey Gulino, and groomer Cahlie Kramer.

Located in a historic building

The clinic occupies Ravendale House, a heritage-listed building in Port Lincoln built in 1842. It was originally the residence of Queen Victoria's colonial officers and the site included a chapel, a fresh water well, an open-air bath, a courtroom and a dwelling. The building, constructed of local limestone, retains architectural features of British-Indian influence, such as French doors above ground level, keystones and vents above the windows, white teak joints, Baltic pine rafters and matchwood ceilings. The facade was left untouched, while the interior underwent a comprehensive renovation to adapt it as a veterinary clinic with modern facilities and surgical equipment.
