Dogmovers

Dogmovers: road pet transport in eastern Australia

Dogmovers is a company based in south-east Queensland and New South Wales that provides road pet transport and relocation services. Its work focuses on dogs and small domestic animals, with local, regional and interstate coverage across Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and South Australia. The company presents itself as a pet transport specialist and states that it has more than 100 years of combined experience in the sector.

Transport and logistics services

The company offers regular scheduled road services, with weekly or fortnightly routes depending on the journey. In addition to local and regional transfers, it provides interstate express services similar to long-distance coach services. For more distant destinations or to connect regional clients with major airports, the company can arrange combined road and air services. It also offers a door-to-door pet taxi service in south-east Queensland and in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region, which can be linked to the scheduled routes.

Fleet and animal care

Dogmovers uses a fleet of vans, buses and small animal floats, specifically designed and modified for pet transport. The company highlights that these vehicles provide comfort and safety, and that staff accompany the animals throughout the journey. The care measures mentioned include air conditioning, fresh straw bedding, ventilation and water supply. The company also publishes information on brachycephalic breeds and its specific policy for these animals, as well as on transport cage sizes.

Booking process

The booking process begins with a quote request. Once accepted, the customer service team confirms the sender's and receiver's details. Before travel, the pickup time is confirmed and, on the day of the transfer, the driver makes contact to arrange the exact time. The company offers payment options and has an online booking form.

Coverage and routes

The routes cover from North Queensland to South Australia, with regular services to cities and regions in the eastern states. The company publishes an interstate service calendar with upcoming dates, routes and meeting points. In addition to pet transport, Dogmovers works with animal rescue efforts, transporting dogs from shelters and rescue organisations.

Experience and team

The company states that it has more than 100 years of combined pet transport experience, although in another section of its website it mentions 70 years. Its staff includes drivers and animal handlers, and the company advertises job openings for roles such as animal attendant, cleaner and driver in Queensland. Customer testimonials highlight the drivers' punctuality, communication during the journey and the careful handling of the animals, including cases involving shy or large dogs.
