About ParkMundo

ParkMundo, airport parking comparison site for Australian airports

ParkMundo is a platform for comparing and booking parking at airports in Australia. The service allows users to enter travel dates and the departure airport to see available options and complete a booking in just a few minutes. The company operates under the domain parkmundo.com.au and was previously called Flyparks; in October 2025 it announced a full rebrand, with a redesigned website and booking experience.

Origin of the project and background

The founder, Jeroen, began researching the airport parking sector in 2012 after identifying problematic practices: damaged vehicles, cars parked in residential areas instead of secure compounds, or returned with hundreds of extra kilometres. His analysis of the Dutch market concluded that consumers were frequently misled by very low-rate offers, from €1.80 per day, at car parks near Schiphol Airport and other locations. In 2013, the first airport parking comparison and booking platform was launched in the Netherlands, focused on verified providers, transparent pricing and quality. After initial success, the company expanded internationally and now operates in several countries. In Australia, the company states that more than one million travellers have used its services since 2013.

How booking works

The process consists of four steps. First, the user compares the different parking options offered by partner providers. They then filter according to their preferences and pay securely online. Next, they present a printed or digital copy of the booking confirmation on arrival at the car park. Finally, they leave the vehicle and travel with the guarantee that it is in the hands of the selected provider. The platform states that booking can be completed in about two minutes and that the payment system accepts common methods such as Visa and Mastercard. Shortly after booking, the customer receives a confirmation email with the steps to follow on arrival and the contact details for both ParkMundo and the car park provider.

Types of parking available

At the Australian airports covered, different options are offered:

  • With shuttle service: the user parks their vehicle and boards a free shuttle that transfers them to the terminal in a few minutes. Most shuttles in Australia operate 24 hours a day, although availability may vary. On return, the provider is called to pick up the customer and take them back to their car.
  • Valet: the customer notifies the provider 30 minutes before arrival and drives directly to the terminal, where they hand over the vehicle to an employee. On return, they call again and the car is returned to them at the terminal.
  • Walking distance parking: allows parking and walking directly to the terminals. The website describes it as the most convenient option and also the most expensive, although it is usually less costly than valet service and more than shuttle service.

The site also mentions other categories in its classification: taxi, park, sleep and fly, and public transport.

Airports covered in Australia

The platform operates at the country's main airports. Destinations listed include Adelaide, Avalon, Ballina Byron Gateway, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sunshine Coast and Sydney. The three most popular airports according to the website itself are Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. For Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, the company states that more than one million travellers have booked parking through ParkMundo since 2013.

Service guarantees and conditions

The company presents several distinguishing features. It states that all parking providers are reviewed and only added after meeting strict requirements, so spaces are well secured. It declares itself independent of the providers and maintains that the information shown is factual, transparent and up to date, with contributions from customer reviews. It also ensures it continuously seeks the lowest rates and offers the same as the providers. Bookings are made through an SSL-certified connection and payments are processed with the provider Multi SafePay. Customer service is free by email and telephone, and it is recommended to have the nine-digit booking number to hand to speed up the process. The platform allows free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.

Quality mark and recognition

ParkMundo holds the widely recognised Webshop Quality Mark. According to the company, this mark guarantees that payment is secure, that the booking is made with the provider, that privacy and data are protected, that independent dispute mediation is available, and that all parts of the quality mark code are complied with. The website shows an average rating of 8.2 out of 10 based on 16,354 reviews.
