R1 Auto: mobile window tinting and ceramic coating in Melbourne

R1 Auto is an Australian company dedicated to car window tinting and ceramic coating, with a mobile service model that comes to your home, office or garage across the entire Melbourne metropolitan area. The company presents itself as a specialist in mobile tinting and ceramic coating, and states it has tinted and coated thousands of vehicles every year.

Window tinting services

The main service is car window tinting, with films that block 99.9% of ultraviolet radiation and heat. The company offers a range of shades from 5% (limo) to 80% (clear), and advises each customer on the legal visible light transmission (VLT) limits in force in Victoria before choosing. Installation is carried out at the customer's home and is usually completed in two to three hours, with no need to visit a workshop.

The work includes a lifetime warranty on the TintForce film, covering manufacturing defects such as fading, peeling, bubbling or delamination, plus R1 Auto's own installation warranty. The company states that the warranty is registered in the customer's name and is transferable if the vehicle is sold.

Ceramic coating

Ceramic coating is offered as extreme paint protection, with hydrophobic properties and resistance to dirt, UV rays and chemicals. Packages include warranties of between 5 and 9 years depending on the option chosen and are backed by Gtechniq. The service can be applied both outside and inside the vehicle, including paint, wheels, glass, leather and fabrics.

Booking process

Customers can request a quote online by specifying the vehicle and desired shade, and book an appointment in their preferred time slot. The mobile team comes to your home, office or garage with all the necessary equipment. Installation takes two to three hours depending on the vehicle and, when finished, written aftercare instructions are provided.

Vehicles serviced

R1 Auto services all types of vehicles, from compact hatchbacks to luxury sedans, SUVs, vans, electric vehicles and fleets. The company specifically mentions its compatibility with modern glass, factory tint layers and heated demister systems, and states that it works with brands such as Tesla, BYD, Polestar, Kia EV and Rivian.

Warranties and coverage

Every installation includes documentation with the film details, the shade percentage, VLT compliance and the manufacturer warranty registered in the customer's name. The company has $20 million public liability insurance covering every mobile installation. The service is provided throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area with no travel fees, with a presence in suburbs such as Berwick, Brunswick, Carrum Downs, Craigieburn, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Epping, Frankston, Hoppers Crossing, Melton, Mornington, Narre Warren, Pakenham, Point Cook, Sunbury, Tarneit and Werribee, among others.
