About RMLV Queensland
RMLV Training for Managing Licensed Venues in Queensland
RMLV Queensland is a registered trademark of AIBI Sunshine Coast (RTO#32055) that delivers RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues) training and certification in Queensland. The company has been operating since 2010 and focuses on preparing hospitality professionals to meet the legal requirements for managing licensed venues, such as pubs, clubs, and restaurants.
What RMLV certification is and who it applies to
The purpose of RMLV training is to ensure compliance with the Liquor Act and proper management of licensed venues. According to the organisation itself, it is mandatory for individual licensees, approved managers, and some permit holders. It is required when applying for any new liquor licence, except for low-risk venues: cafés and restaurants that do not open after midnight, small clubs with fewer than 2,000 members, and certain watercraft.
RMLV certification is valid for three years. The regulatory body, the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR), requires approved managers and licensees to keep it up to date. If certification expires, the person is no longer considered an approved manager even if their licence remains valid. RMLV training does not itself grant approved manager status: you first complete the course and then apply to the OLGR for the approved manager licence, which is valid for five years.
Formats: face-to-face and HD video webinar
The company offers face-to-face training and also an HD video webinar format that allows you to attend the class without travelling. Online class bookings are made through a calendar where the user selects a date, fills in the form, and submits it. The organisation notes that AIBI delivers RMLV training in a one-day format at various locations on the Sunshine Coast, subject to reaching a minimum number of participants; for those outside that area, the online format is more convenient and potentially faster to arrange.
Regarding the choice between face-to-face and online, the company recommends online training for hospitality industry veterans and face-to-face for those certifying for the first time. No special equipment is required for the online course: all you need is a stable internet connection and a reasonably quiet environment.

Student profile and training approach

Among the advantages it mentions are instructors with over 30 years of experience, an online learning platform, courses tailored to Queensland regulations, industry-recognised certifications, flexible schedules, and ongoing support after obtaining the certificate.
Discounts and bookings
The company offers discounts for group bookings, returning customers, and newsletter subscribers.
