Overdrive Sports

Overdrive Sports, strength equipment for the home gym

Overdrive Sports is an Australian online store focused on selling equipment for home gyms and strength training. Its catalogue is organised into four main sections: bars and weights, strength equipment, conditioning, and flooring and storage. The company operates exclusively online and does not have a showroom open to the public.

Bars, plates and dumbbells

The bars and weights section includes 20 kg and 15 kg Olympic bars, collars, landmine posts with handles, specialty bars (EZ curl, trap bar and swiss bar), bumper plates, 20 kg adjustable weight sets, fractional change plates, kettlebells and dumbbells. Among the latter, the Overdrive rubber hex dumbbells stand out, manufactured using precision friction welding and coated in impact-absorbing rubber. Their handle features a straight, medium-depth knurl designed for a firm and comfortable grip, while the hexagonal heads prevent them from rolling during exercise and the rubber coating reduces noise and protects the floor.

Benches, racks and machines

Within strength equipment, flat and adjustable benches are offered, racks such as the City Power Rack and its attachments, the Mach Rack series with its accessories, and strength machines including plate-loaded models, cable machines and the Recon series.

Conditioning, flooring and storage

The conditioning section brings together slam balls, nylon battle ropes, anti-slip plyo boxes and power bands. For flooring and storage, gym tiles and storage packages are sold. The Overdrive EPDM rubber tiles, 500 mm x 500 mm x 25 mm, are designed to absorb impacts and noise. They consist of two layers: a top EPDM layer, which seals the surface and offers resistance to moisture and abrasion, and a bottom SBR layer, with recycled rubber particles that provide elasticity and cushioning. They incorporate grooves and lower bumps to improve acoustic performance and distribute vibration, as well as connector tabs that prevent movement in high-traffic areas.

Home gym packages

The store groups part of its offering into starter packages, such as the City Power Pack and the Mach Pack 100 kg with City bench, as well as bumper plate sets in different variants (Colour, Black, Fury and Hi-Temp Contrast Crumb) in 100 kg and 150 kg formats. The catalogue shows prices and discounts applied to the regular price on several of these products.
