Veterinary clinic in Chatswood with Gold Cat-friendly accreditation

Smith Street Vet Hospital is a purpose-built veterinary clinic located on the corner of Smith and High Street in Chatswood, New South Wales. It opened its doors in 2005 and previously operated under the name Chatswood Vetfriends. The centre is staffed by a team of veterinarians and nurses who, according to their own presentation, care for patients as if they were their own.

The clinic maintains a close working relationship with Willoughby Veterinary Hospital, allowing it to collaborate and draw on additional expertise and resources when needed. It also has a connection with a specialist and 24-hour emergency hospital: North Shore Veterinary Hospital, which also offers a pet ambulance service.

Veterinary services and patient care

The service catalogue includes consultations, dentistry, desexing, and cat boarding. The clinic is equipped to care for animals overnight, although cases requiring more intensive care may be referred to the nearby specialist hospital.

Accreditation and cat-friendly environment

Smith Street Vet Hospital holds Gold level Cat-friendly accreditation awarded by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). To obtain it, the clinic redesigned its facilities and trained its staff with the aim of making visits for feline patients as stress-free as possible. It also has a separate waiting room for cats.

Professional team

The team is led by Alex, lead veterinarian, with Brandi as practice manager and Ella and Tiffany as animal attendants.

Service area and access

Due to its location in Chatswood, the clinic regularly treats pets from Chatswood, Roseville, Middle Cove, Willoughby, Castlecrag, Lindfield and their surrounding suburbs. The centre has its own parking underneath the clinic.

Consultation hours

Consultation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
