Services and rental conditions

The company offers airport pick-up and drop-off via a free shuttle service, as it does not have a counter in the terminals. It also allows access outside normal hours. The booking process consists of four steps: indicate dates and location, choose vehicle, select coverage and extras, and confirm with payment and immediate receipt of details by email.

Among the available extras are GPS, child seats and additional drivers. Insurance coverage can be standard or extended to reduce liability in case of damage. A refundable security deposit applies, which is released within five business days after returning the vehicle, although the bank may take longer to reflect it. Full terms and conditions are available online.

Locations and coverage

Alpha Car Hire has five locations in Australia: Brisbane Airport, Melbourne Airport, Gold Coast Airport, Sydney Airport and Logan Brisbane. The company also offers pick-up service at non-primary airports and in the Logan area. The website details the addresses and phone numbers of each location.

Driving tips by city

The website includes practical recommendations for those renting a vehicle in the cities where it operates. In Brisbane, it warns about tolls on major roads such as the Gateway Motorway and suggests considering a vehicle with an e-TAG; it also mentions limited parking in the centre and proposes routes such as Mount Coot-tha or the scenic road to Moreton Bay. In Melbourne, it highlights the particularity of hook turns in the centre and the convenience of keeping headlights on due to rapid weather changes, as well as the Great Ocean Road as a recommended route. On the Gold Coast, it alerts about congestion near the beaches on weekends and metered or time-restricted parking zones in tourist areas.

Customer reviews

The testimonials collected on the site highlight the cleanliness and quality of the vehicles, the speed of pick-up and drop-off, and the friendliness of the staff, including the shuttle drivers. Several users mention having rented on repeated occasions and value the value for money and the flexibility for last-minute extensions. Some opinions point out the presence of pre-existing damage on the vehicles, so they recommend taking photographs before leaving the depot.
