About NRMA (National Roads and Motorists' Association)

NRMA, Australian mutual for roadside assistance and motoring services

The National Roads and Motorists' Association Limited (NRMA) is an Australian not-for-profit mutual organisation operating under the NRMA brand. With more than 3.6 million members, it presents itself as one of the largest member-owned organisations in Australia and one of the country's most recognised brands. Its activity is structured around three main areas: road, travel and rewards.

Roadside assistance and motoring services

The roadside assistance service is available 24 hours a day, every day, for both individuals and businesses. Membership provides access to this service and other vehicle-related products, such as car battery replacement, electric vehicle charging, driving lessons and obtaining an international driving permit. The company also offers car and travel insurance, although these products are issued by Insurance Australia Limited, a separate entity from NRMA.

Travel and holiday destinations

NRMA manages a network of more than 70 holiday destinations in Australia, marketed under the NRMA Parks and Resorts brand. The travel offering is complemented by travel insurance, the international driving permit and car and truck rental services through SIXT.

My NRMA Rewards: rewards and discounts

The My NRMA Rewards membership program brings together more than 8,500 offers and discounts in categories such as food and dining, automotive, experiences and attractions, shopping and lifestyle, and cashback. The My NRMA app centralises membership management, rewards and services such as the fuel finder and trip planner.

Membership and assistance plans

Membership is structured into several levels of roadside assistance cover: Everyday Care, Complete Care and Ultimate Care. The site indicated a promotion of three months free for new non-member subscribers who took out the monthly payment plan, with a total minimum cost of 104.85 Australian dollars for Everyday Care, 197.91 for Complete Care and 247.41 for Ultimate Care over a twelve-month term. The offer was valid from 2 March 2025 to 30 June 2026 and did not apply to existing members with an active subscription or to My NRMA or 'Join on Road' products.

Advocacy, community and sustainability

As a purpose-led mutual, NRMA carries out advocacy work to promote safer roads, better transport and a more connected future. It also drives community programs for school education, local initiatives, reconciliation and partnerships, and states that it is leading Australia's transition to electric vehicles. The organisation publishes information about its governance, its leadership team and its sustainability strategy, and has a media centre for press.
