Walking City Tour Book Now

On foot, we will learn more about this city which is a living Inca museum.

The Cusco we see today was built on the remains of the ancient capital of the Inca empire and we can see this city in its entirety from the viewing point at San Cristóbal church, which was built on the site of an ancient Inca palace. We continue our tour in the picturesque colonial neighborhood of San Blas, where we will visit the church of the same name, with its famous wooden pulpit. We then head for what was the most important religious center in the Inca state, the Temple of the Sun, or Koricancha, as well as the city’s cathedral, with its paintings from the Cusco School and other colonial-era treasures such as a silver litter and the image of the Dark Christ, or Lord of the Earthquakes, as he is known.

We begin this tour at the hotel in the center of the city and end the walk in the main plaza. For those clients staying beyond the historic center of the city we provide an additional transfer by vehicle to the city’s main square.

This tour is available throughout the year at the time of day which best suits our clients. Duration of the excursion: approximately 3-4 hours. Ruins around Cusco Book Now

Visit the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park in an active and simple manner on the perfect trip for those seeking to adapt to the high altitude before embarking on longer and more difficult treks. Our vehicle will pick us up from our hotel in Cusco and take us to the archaeological site of Tambomachay, located 11 kilometers from the center of the city. It is here that we will begin our hike, visiting the ceremonial fountains of Tambomachay and the fortress of Pucapucara, after which we will continue to the Andean village of Huayllarcocha and the Temple of the Moon, where we will have time to enjoy a pleasant open air picnic lunch. In the afternoon we will walk downhill to the archaeological site known as Qenko, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us to Sacsayhuaman Park to see the colossal stone zigzagging walls of that fortified temple complex. This program begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at around 4:00 p.m.

Duration: Approximately 8 hours and available every day throughout the year. Ruins & City Tour Book Now

Visit the capital city of the ancient empire of Tawantinsuyo in a much more active manner. Our vehicle will pick you up from the hotel in the historic center of the city of Cusco and take us to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, which stands as a fine example of how the Incas worked stone with such great skill. After walking through these hills above Cusco and visiting sites such as
Tambomachay, Pucapucara, Qenqo and Sacsayhuaman itself, we will walk down to the viewing point at the church of San Cristóbal, overlooking the city.

After a brief stop to admire the views of the city below us and to rest, we will continue our descent to the artisans’ quarter of San Blas, with its narrow, cobbled streets and picturesque church which boasts a true jewel of colonial art in the form of its pulpit, which was carved from a single piece of cedar by the Cusco-born artist Juan Tomás Tuyro Tupaq.

Continuing our walk, we will head for the church of Santo Domingo, which was built by the Dominican order over the Inca Temple of the Sun, or Koricancha. Here we will be able to enjoy some of the finest Inca stonework found anywhere in Peru. After this excursion we will end the afternoon in the city’s main square, where we will have time to visit the cathedral built by the Spanish in the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as the fine Jesús, José y Maria chapel, which is home to several paintings from the Cusco School and other colonial-era treasures made from silver or carved from wood.

This program begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 4:00 p.m. It is available every day throughout the year. Huchuyqosqo & Pisaq Book Now

The geography of southern Peru is truly impressive and the valley of the Urubamba River, which is also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is no exception.  Seen from the heights above the river, this valley will provide us with spectacular views of this part of the Andes.

We will begin our day’s activities at 7:00 a.m., when our vehicle will take us to the village of Siwas, almost two hours from Cusco. This small community of mud brick, thatched-roofed houses marks the beginning of our hike. Along the way we will be able to enjoy views of almost the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas, as well as visiting the remains of Inca constructions. We arrive at the Inca ruins of Huchuyqosqo at around noon. After exploring the site and resting as we eat lunch, we will begin our descent towards the valley, where our vehicle will be waiting not far from the ruins to take us to the archaeological site of Pisaq. After visiting the solar calendar, or Intihuatana, the Inca cemetery and other structures, we will descend the mountain via an impressive Inca road which will take us to the main square of the village and local market of Pisaq. From here we will be transferred to our hotel.

This tour is available throughout the year and can be organized any day of the week. Duration: approximately 9 hours. Chinchero, Maras & Moray Book Now

We will begin this adventure at 9:00 a.m. as we drive from Cusco to the village of Chinchero, located some 30 km northeast of the city, where we will be able to visit the small local church which the Spanish built over the foundations of Inca walls, as well as the plaza where a traditional market is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Here, local people exchange their produce and sell their handcrafts. After spending some time enjoying the atmosphere of the village, we will continue to Cheqoq, a series of Inca water channels and granaries which few tourists are given the opportunity to visit. We will then continue to the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, which were once part of an Inca agricultural research station where they developed new crops strains. After enjoying an open air picnic lunch we will continue our trip by visiting the salt mines of Maras, before ending our day by walking to the village of Tarabamba, very close to the river, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusco or our hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Duration of the trip: approximately 8 hours. This tour is available any day throughout the year. Pisaq, Salineras & Ollantaytambo Book Now

The trip begins at 8:00 a.m. in the city of Cusco, where we will board our vehicle for the drive to the village of Pisaq, located 32 km northeast of the city and at an altitude of 2,972 meters. Here we will be able to visit the impressive Inca terraces and the interesting Intihuatana, which the Incas used as a solar calendar. On the way we will visit the site known as Awanacancha, where we will have an opportunity to see llamas and alpacas and observe the ancient techniques used by local people to make textiles from wool. After visiting the archaeological site of Pisaq, we will begin our descent to the main square of the village of the same name, where a local market is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
