A state-of-the-art cement company
Located on the site of an old rail town in northwestern Arizona, approximately 10 miles north of the town of Paulden, the Drake Cement facility was the first of its kind to be built in the state in over 50 years.
The plant is a state-of-the-art facility with a rated capacity of 660,000 tons of clinker production per year. Several operating and pollution controls incorporated into the plant are so advanced they are found in only a few other facilities throughout the world.
Drake is building a very different kind of cement company for the 21st century, by focusing on service, quality, and social responsibility while being a responsible employer, neighbor, and corporate citizen.

Drake Cement's Paulden plant has the capacity to produce almost 700,000 short tons of cement per year.
The first mining claims for the Drake Cement plant were staked out in the year 2000, more than 10 years before final completion of the facility. Drake Cement Products
Sustainability, flexibility, and durability are hallmarks of cement-based products in any number of applications. Cements should be of the right quality and makeup to maximize overall performance.
Currently, Drake Cement focuses exclusively on the production of type II/V (LA) portland cement, conforming to the physical and chemical requirements of ASTM C-150 for types I, II, and V, low alkali cements, as well as ASTM C 1157 for types GU, MS, and HS cements.
Drake Cement type II/V (LA) can be used in any general construction application, including those with exposure to moderate or high levels of sulfates in soils and/or water. In addition, the low levels of alkalis in Drake Cement type II/V (LA) portland cement reduce the potential for damage due to alkali-silica reactivity (ASR).
