About Lexie Hearing
Lexie Hearing and the wind-down of LXE Hearing's US operations
Lexie Hearing is a brand of over-the-counter hearing aids marketed for behind-the-ear use, with a companion mobile app for adjusting settings and managing local profiles. Its parent group, LXE Hearing, Inc., together with four related US companies, entered into separate assignments for the benefit of creditors under California law on 15 July 2026 and began winding down US operations. The notice published on the brand's support page states that the decision followed efforts to restructure the business and pursue strategic transactions to maintain customer support.
The companies covered by the process are LXE Hearing, Inc., hearX USA, Inc., Eargo, Inc., Eargo Hearing, Inc. and Eargo Screening, LLC. ABC SPV IX LLC acts as assignee for the benefit of creditors of hearX USA, Inc., overseeing the companies' assets, evaluating potential asset sales and managing an orderly wind-down.
What the wind-down means for hearing aids and the mobile app
According to the notice, the hearing aids themselves are expected to continue functioning for hearing amplification and core daily use through local on-device controls or the last saved local profiles. The main change affects the Lexie mobile app: it will be removed from app stores and its cloud connectivity deactivated on 8 October 2026. Customer and technical support for the app will remain available until 22 October 2026.
Version 9 of the app is expected to keep working locally on the phone where it was installed and synchronised before 8 October 2026, but it will no longer receive software or security updates, and future compatibility with phone operating systems cannot be guaranteed. Older versions are expected to stop working once cloud connectivity is deactivated. After 8 October 2026, the app cannot be downloaded or re-downloaded.
Steps the company asked users to take before 8 October 2026
- Update the app to version 9.0 through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- Open the app to confirm preferred volume settings, defaults and local profiles.
- Open the app while connected to the internet and to the hearing aids so that the configurations synchronise for offline use.
Manuals, customer service and warranty deadlines
A digital archive with Lexie user manuals and product guides is available on the support section of the website until 30 October 2026; the company asked customers to download and save any relevant documents to a personal device before that date. Customer service representatives remain available until 22 October 2026 at support@lexiehearing.com and 1-800-499-1336.
Warranty and repair requests could be submitted through customer service as normal on or before 15 September 2026, with each request evaluated under the warranty terms applicable to the purchase. After that date, new warranty or repair requests are no longer accepted.
Returns and claims against the LXE Hearing companies
Under the terms and conditions of a direct purchase, the standard return period for a non-defective product is 45 days from the date the device was received. Requests received more than 45 days after delivery fall outside that standard return policy.
Customers who believe they have a monetary claim against an LXE Hearing company can submit a completed Proof of Claim with supporting documentation to the assignee no later than 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on 31 January 2027. The address given is ABC SPV IX LLC, as assignee for the benefit of creditors of hearX USA, Inc., 514 Via de la Valle, Suite 210, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States, with the email claims.sgi@jsheld.com. Because each company has a separate estate, the notice states that a claim must be filed against the specific legal entity responsible for the obligation, with a separate Proof of Claim for each company. Filing a Proof of Claim does not guarantee payment.
Brand background
The notice describes more than a decade of work by Eargo, Lexie and Go to broaden access to high-quality hearing care, and states that the group is unable to continue supporting customers beyond October 2026.
