About Harding University

Harding University is a residential Christian university in Searcy with a wide range of undergraduate majors and substantial graduate and professional study. Its eight academic colleges cover allied health, arts and sciences, Bible and ministry, business, education, nursing, pharmacy, and honors. The range is broad, but the campus culture is intentionally faith-centered: students considering residential life should review chapel, housing, and student-life expectations alongside the degree plan and financial estimate.

Choosing among programs and locations

Harding lists more than 110 undergraduate majors, 14 preprofessional programs, and over 40 graduate and professional programs. Nursing, pharmacy, allied health, education, business, Bible and ministry, architecture and design, and the sciences are among the prominent areas to compare. Because prerequisites, clinical placements, graduate progression, and professional licensing differ by field, check the department’s current plan rather than relying on the major title alone. Use the degrees and majors directory to narrow the options.

The main campus is at 915 E. Market Avenue, Searcy, AR 72149-5615. Harding also operates a Northwest Arkansas location at 901 S. 52nd Street, Rogers, AR 72758. That site serves selected education degree-completion and graduate programs, mental-health and wellness programs, and an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Education inquiries: (479) 268-5812; nursing: (479) 275-0839; email hunwa@harding.edu. Harding also offers semester-long international programs in Greece, Florence, Australasia, Latin America, Europe, and Zambia; those are study-abroad programs, with term availability and locations confirmed through International Programs.

Applying and comparing aid

The undergraduate application process asks for an online application, official high-school transcripts, and other records based on the applicant’s history; the published application fee is $50. Transfer students should request a transcript review early and verify how credits fit their intended major. Begin through the undergraduate application checklist and contact Admissions at (800) 477-4407 or admissions@harding.edu.

Harding’s Academic Achievement Scholarship for incoming freshmen is published at $7,000–$11,000 per year for up to four years, based on a combination of GPA and ACT, SAT, or CLT scores. Renewal requires full-time enrollment (at least 12 hours) and a 3.0 GPA. Arkansas residents may also want to check the Harding Guarantee: for eligible first-time or transfer undergraduates who maintain the required state scholarship, complete FAFSA, qualify for the maximum Pell Grant, and maintain a 3.0 college GPA, it can cover remaining tuition. It does not cover fees, housing, or food and is limited to eight semesters. Aid packages vary, so compare the complete cost of attendance and confirm terms through the university’s scholarship directory.

Campus hours and what students say

Harding’s administrative handbook says campus offices are normally open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; individual departments and holiday schedules may differ. The main number is (501) 279-4000. For a visit to the Rogers location, contact that site directly rather than traveling to Searcy.

Public student comments often praise caring professors, a close community, faith-centered activities, and opportunities to join clubs or study abroad. Other reviewers describe strict campus rules, required chapel, limited entertainment in a small town, and concerns about dining, housing, cost, or unequal experiences in some programs. These are personal accounts and can differ by major and year. Before deciding, ask your department about clinical or lab access, request a current term-by-term course plan, review residence-life policies, and compare aid renewal rules against your likely costs.
