About AdventHealth University

AdventHealth University (AHU) is a private, nonprofit Seventh-day Adventist university focused on preparing people for healthcare careers. Its Orlando campus sits next to AdventHealth Orlando, and students can study across nursing, imaging, biomedical and health sciences, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, healthcare administration and spiritual care. The university lists 36 academic programs across certificates, associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, with offerings split among Orlando, Tampa, Denver and online study. A course may not be available at every site, so compare the precise program location and delivery format before applying.

Programs, clinical preparation and accreditation

Prominent pathways include the Associate of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing, diagnostic medical sonography, radiography, nuclear medicine technology, occupational therapy assistant, biomedical sciences and health sciences. Graduate options include nurse anesthesia, family nurse practitioner, physical therapy, physician assistant, occupational therapy and healthcare administration. AHU describes learning connected to AdventHealth facilities, simulation and clinical practice. Its program directory identifies the campus and format for each credential and links to the full descriptions.

The university is institutionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate through doctoral degrees. Program approvals are separate: the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and other clinical fields have their own accreditors and licensure requirements. Check the program-specific accreditation and state authorization information for the exact credential you want; do not infer that one program’s approval applies to every course or clinical track.

2026–27 costs and financial support

For 2026–27, AHU lists undergraduate tuition at $590 per credit, plus a $300 matriculation fee per trimester and additional professional fees for some programs. Its full-time undergraduate estimate assumes 12 credits in each of three trimesters: $22,140 for tuition and fees, before books, housing, food and transportation. The university’s estimated total cost of attendance is $47,079 for students living on campus or with parents and $54,579 for students living off campus. Graduate tuition is $700 per credit; the full-time graduate estimate lists $19,800 in tuition and fees, with total estimated attendance costs from $52,576 to $62,860 depending on housing. These are planning estimates, not a guaranteed bill; clinical, program, housing and enrollment choices change the total. Use the current cost of attendance and net price calculator before deciding.

Students may apply for federal Pell Grants and other aid through FAFSA. Florida residents may qualify for state options such as the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) grant, Florida Student Assistance Grant and Bright Futures, subject to residency, enrollment, academic and funding requirements. AHU also automatically reviews admitted students for merit scholarships: its posted award is $1,000–$3,000 per year for first-time degree seekers and $1,000–$2,000 for transfer students at specified GPA levels. Need-based Tuition Assistance Grants are available to eligible full-time undergraduates who submit FAFSA annually; returning students can apply for endowed awards, and there are additional nursing and summer-ministry scholarships. The scholarship page explains eligibility and award timing. Veterans can ask about Yellow Ribbon and other military education benefits.

Applying and choosing a campus

AHU offers tours and online requests for information, and applicants can speak with admissions and financial-aid staff about prerequisites, transfer credit and professional-program selection. Some health programs are selective and require prerequisite courses, minimum grades or additional applications; meeting a baseline does not always guarantee a clinical seat. Ask which campus runs your intended cohort, when clinical hours occur, what background checks and health clearances are needed, and whether an advertised scholarship renews for your program. Start through the university’s application portal or arrange a visit before making a deposit.

The main campus is 671 Winyah Drive, Orlando, FL 32803; the main line is (407) 303-7747. The university lists an instructional site at 14055 Riveredge Drive, Suite 500, Tampa, FL 33637, and AHU Denver at 6061 S. Willow Drive, Suite 310, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Online programs provide another route, though clinical placements and hands-on requirements may still be local and in person. Posted Orlando campus office hours are Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.; confirm access, advising availability and holiday schedules before traveling. Visitors should use the North King Street Garage at 421 E. King Street and follow campus visitor-parking instructions.

What students say

Student feedback on Niche often praises small classes, approachable instructors, simulation technology and the chance to connect coursework with clinical settings. Some reviewers also describe a challenging workload, high costs and frustration with billing or financial-aid communication. Reviews are individual accounts and reflect different programs and cohorts. Before enrolling, ask a current student in your intended major how clinical rotations are assigned, what tutoring and advising look like during a demanding term, and when aid credits are posted. The student review page offers examples from different experiences; use those comments to guide questions about your own program.

AHU may appeal to students seeking a healthcare-centered education with access to clinical environments and options from entry-level degrees to advanced professional study. The decision hinges on the exact pathway: compare accreditation and licensure fit, campus availability, clinical expectations, net cost after aid and the schedule you can sustain. Those details will show whether a particular AHU program matches your professional goal.
