About Equitable Excellence Scholarship Program — Scholarship America
Equitable Excellence was established by Equitable Foundation and is administered by Scholarship America, a nonprofit that manages programs for foundations, companies and associations. It is aimed at seniors at public high schools in the 50 states, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico who plan to study full time at an accredited two- or four-year college in the United States. Students at private schools or home schools are not eligible, and applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
The application for fall 2027 enrollment is listed as open, with a deadline of December 22, 2026 at 3 p.m. Central Time. The program plans to grant up to 100 renewable scholarships of $5,000 per year, renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever comes first. The potential total is therefore $20,000 if renewal conditions are met. Selection considers financial need, academic performance, leadership and participation, work experience, personal or family circumstances and a statement about how the student plans to support their community. Applicants must also consent to publication of their identity, plans or achievements and photographs for program purposes.
The application requires a complete current transcript and the first two pages of the most recently filed Form 1040 used for the financial section; the administrator says applicants must black out Social Security and bank account numbers before uploading it. Submit everything electronically through the portal linked from the official listing, check that the form is marked complete and use a personal email account that will remain active for notifications. Scholarship America lists equitableexcellence@scholarshipamerica.org and 855-996-2255 for this program; its general office is at 7900 International Drive, Suite 660, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Meeting the minimum GPA does not guarantee an award: Scholarship America selects recipients and says applicants are notified by email in early spring.
