About CBD College

CBD College is a nonprofit healthcare career college in Los Angeles, incorporated as a nonprofit public benefit organization. Its sole campus is on the fourth floor of 3699 Wilshire Boulevard. The college’s offerings combine hybrid clinical training with online coursework and include associate programs in diagnostic medical sonography, magnetic resonance imaging, occupational therapy assisting, physical therapist assisting and surgical technology, along with a Master of Occupational Therapy and an online Bachelor of Science in Health Science. Students comparing career programs should look closely at program-specific accreditation, clinical requirements, total charges and published outcomes; the figures differ substantially by field.

Which programs fit your goal?

CBD’s imaging options include diagnostic medical sonography and MRI. Rehabilitation programs include Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT); the surgical technology associate program combines classroom instruction, simulated operating-room practice and clinical placements. The online B.S. in Health Science is a separate degree-completion pathway, and eligibility may depend on prior coursework. Most programs are described as hybrid, while the bachelor’s option is online. Review the current program list for each program’s prerequisites, schedule and delivery mode rather than assuming that every class or lab is remote.

Accreditation is program-specific as well as institutional. CBD says it is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); its current site identifies the DMS program as CAAHEP-accredited and the PTA program as accredited by CAPTE. Those distinctions matter when a credential, certification exam or state license is your goal. Confirm that the exact program and campus meet the requirements of the certifying body and the state where you plan to work, and ask about background checks, physical examinations, clinical-site availability and any travel or scheduling obligations before enrolling.

Costs, aid and the importance of the fine print

Published 2026–27 cost estimates vary by program: the college lists $64,594.89 for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, $55,907.14 for PTA, $43,774.79 for Surgical Technology, $18,856.47 for the online B.S. in Health Science and $92,030.39 for the MOT. These are program estimates, not a single annual tuition rate, and living expenses or other individual costs may be separate. CBD labels its aid calculations as estimates based on full eligibility, not guaranteed awards. Ask for the current enrollment agreement and an itemized plan for your own aid eligibility before signing; the financial aid page links to each program’s cost estimate.

Available aid may include Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, federal loans, Federal Work-Study, Cal Grant and veterans’ benefits for students who qualify. CBD also lists a need-based Presidential Grant for selected MOT, OTA and PTA students, with a 3.0 GPA renewal condition; the award is limited by cohort and is not guaranteed to every eligible student. The college’s 2026–27 page lists a separate Signal Boost Scholarship for eligible CBD MRI graduates entering its Health Science bachelor’s program. Confirm deadlines, grant eligibility, renewal terms, loan amounts and how much of the award must be repaid in your own package.

Read outcomes by program, not by headline

The college’s California School Performance Fact Sheets report results separately. For Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2024, 121 of 134 students completed within 150% of the stated program length (90%); among 121 graduates available for employment, 90 were reported employed in the field (74%). Surgical Technology’s 2024 sheet reports 43 of 93 completing within 150% of program length (46%) and 29 of 42 graduates available for employment working in the field (69%). These are different programs and cohorts, and the placement measure has a defined denominator; they should not be treated as a promise of a future student’s outcome. Check the fact sheet for your intended program and ask how it counts graduates, clinical placement and jobs considered “in the field.” CBD publishes its program outcomes and disclosures for prospective students.

What student comments mention

Student-written reviews are mixed. Positive comments mention knowledgeable instructors, flexible online or hybrid schedules and useful hands-on practice. Critical comments raise questions about clinical-site coordination, communication with financial aid, course organization and the price of a private program. These personal accounts vary by program and cohort; they are most useful as prompts for specific questions. Ask to speak with a current student in your intended program, confirm how many lab hours are available, and get the clinical placement process and likely schedule in writing. You can read the student comments alongside the official outcome reports.
