Baptist Health College Little Rock

Baptist Health College Little Rock prepares students for nursing and allied health careers through certificate, associate, and bachelor’s pathways, including traditional, accelerated, and online nursing options.

About Baptist Health College Little Rock

Baptist Health College Little Rock (BHCLR) is a focused healthcare college owned and supported by Baptist Health. It offers certificate and associate pathways in nursing and allied health, plus a new online RN-to-BSN option. Current fields include traditional and accelerated nursing, practical nursing, medical laboratory science, nuclear medicine, radiography, occupational therapy assisting, sleep technology, and surgical technology. The school asks applicants to choose one program at a time; prerequisites, test scores, start terms, and selection requirements differ by program. Review the program directory before requesting an application checklist.

Apply to the program, not just the college

The college currently accepts applications for January and August 2027 entry. An application file is not reviewed until the required documents are received; this can include official transcripts and ACT/SAT scores for allied-health programs or ATI TEAS results for nursing. Only one program application may be active at a time. Contact Admissions if a program is full, if you need to change tracks, or if you are applying to the online accelerated nursing pathway: that program requires Arkansas residency during enrollment. Start at the application and admissions overview, which links to the applicant portal and the current entry calendar.

Financial aid worth checking before you enroll

The Arkansas Future Grant can cover tuition and fees for eligible certificate and associate programs, up to $3,800 after other grants and scholarships are counted. BHCLR lists medical laboratory science, nursing, practical nursing, radiography, and surgical technology among qualifying programs. The published state application deadlines are July 1 for fall and January 10 for spring; check the state portal for current rules and residency requirements.

BHCLR also lists an automatic $500 academic scholarship for students meeting both ACT composite 24 and TEAS composite 74; traditional nursing and General Education Prep students receive it in their second semester. Baptist Health Foundation awards are competitive, vary by program and need, and require FAFSA plus a donor thank-you card. FAFSA school code: 031052. Because the foundation application dates and grant terms change by cohort, verify the next cycle before budgeting. See current grant and scholarship conditions.

What public student comments describe

Some students praise hands-on clinical learning, helpful instructors, and preparation for healthcare work. Other public accounts describe uneven teaching or difficulty getting clear billing and student-service answers. Reviews include both student and parent perspectives and are individual experiences; ask current students in your program about instructor access, clinical placement logistics, and how account questions are resolved.
