About Colorado Christian University
Colorado Christian University (CCU) is a nonprofit, interdenominational evangelical university in Lakewood, just west of Denver. Its traditional undergraduate campus is one part of a larger institution: CCU also serves working adults and graduate students through online programs and a regional center in Colorado Springs. Its identity is explicitly faith-centered, with the university stating that the Bible is integrated into every class. Students should weigh that educational approach alongside their academic interests, costs and professional goals.
Programs, learning format and accreditation
CCU offers more than 200 program options through its College of Undergraduate Studies and College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The Lakewood campus has more than 100 traditional undergraduate majors, minors and dual-degree options, including business, education, nursing, music, science and engineering. Adult and graduate offerings include online and flexible associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral pathways in areas such as business, counseling, education, ministry, nursing, psychology and organizational leadership. CCU Academy also offers dual-credit and dual-enrollment options for high-school students.
The university is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Additional program accreditations include CACREP for clinical mental-health counseling and CCNE for nursing degrees; music holds NASM membership and teacher-licensure programs have state approval. Confirm the precise program and campus format when comparing online, graduate and residential study, because specialized approvals apply to specific programs. The university’s accreditation page identifies those distinctions.
Tuition, scholarships and financial aid
For 2026–27, CCU lists undergraduate tuition at $43,324 for a full-time course load of 12–18 credits per semester. Its estimated annual total for a traditional on-campus student is $63,950 when housing and food, fees, books, transportation and personal expenses are included; actual housing and living costs vary. In the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, undergraduate tuition is $494 per credit for Summer 2026 through Spring 2027, with a guaranteed-tuition option for eligible students who continue making progress. Graduate rates vary by program.
CCU lists merit scholarships for new traditional undergraduates ranging from $14,000 to $24,000 per year, with three competitive full-tuition awards each year. Other possibilities include transfer, visit, program, music, athletics, need-based and partner scholarships, as well as federal and Colorado grants, loans and work-study. Most freshman merit awards require continuous enrollment and satisfactory progress; some top awards require test scores even though admission is otherwise test-optional. These awards are not automatic and many freshman scholarships do not apply to adult or graduate programs. Use the university’s tuition and cost pages and scholarship and grant information to check current eligibility and calculate your net cost before enrolling.

What public comments tell prospective students
Public comments show a mix of experiences. Positive reviewers describe supportive professors, Christian community and a campus where they feel connected to their faith. Some lower-rated posts raise concerns about administrative communication, billing or financial-aid handling, military-benefit support, accessibility and whether the campus culture is a good personal fit. These are individual accounts, not independently verified findings, and experiences can differ by program and student status. Before committing, ask the specific department how advising and disability accommodations work, get your tuition and aid package in writing, and talk with students in the program you plan to enter.
