About Quinnipiac University
Quinnipiac University is a private nonprofit university whose main undergraduate campus sits at the foot of Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, Connecticut. It offers a broad catalog that reaches well beyond one professional field: business, computing and engineering, communications, film, sciences, nursing, education, law, medicine and health professions are among its academic areas. Its three campuses create distinct student experiences, so the location of a major, the cost of housing, and the travel needed between sites are practical questions to resolve before choosing a program.
Programs and where students study
Undergraduate options include nursing, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic sciences, biomedical sciences, health science studies, business, engineering, computer science, film and television, communications, criminal justice, psychology and environmental science. Quinnipiac also has graduate and professional programs in fields such as law, medicine, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy and education. Some pathways combine an undergraduate degree with a graduate program. Because the full catalog is large and professional programs can have separate admissions and tuition rules, use the university’s undergraduate program directory and confirm the current curriculum and application deadline for the specific degree.
Mount Carmel Campus, 275 Mount Carmel Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518, is the main campus and the hub for much of undergraduate academic and residential life. It includes the Arnold Bernhard Library, student center, admissions visitor center and most undergraduate residence halls. York Hill Campus, 305 Sherman Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518, contains upper-class housing, the Rocky Top Student Center and M&T Bank Arena, home to Division I basketball and hockey facilities. North Haven Campus, 370 Bassett Road, North Haven, CT 06473, brings together the schools of medicine, nursing, health sciences, education and law, with clinical simulation facilities and teaching labs. NECHE also lists a Hartford instructional location at 22 Jefferson Street, the Center for Excellence, Simulation and Innovation at Hartford HealthCare. Confirm the campus where your classes meet and the transportation arrangements for your program.
2026–27 cost and financial aid
For a first-year full-time undergraduate living on campus in 2026–27, Quinnipiac estimates $56,430 in tuition, $2,140 in student fees, $860 in technology fees, a $200 orientation fee and $18,440 for housing and food—a total of $78,070 in estimated billed charges before indirect expenses such as books, travel and personal costs. Returning students and commuters have different budgets, and separate professional programs may use different rates. The cost and budget page breaks out estimates by student type.
The university says more than 92% of full-time undergraduates receive some form of financial aid and publishes an average grant-and-scholarship total of $33,849; that is an institutional average, not a forecast of an individual package. First-year students are considered for academic merit scholarships through the admissions review, while need-based Quinnipiac grants require the FAFSA. Other possible sources include federal Pell and SEOG grants, Connecticut’s Roberta B. Willis aid, transfer or athletic scholarships, work-study, veteran benefits and outside awards. First-year and transfer applicants have a March 1 financial-aid deadline, and continuing students April 1. File early and compare the award letter’s grants and scholarships separately from loans. Review program-specific exceptions and renewal conditions on the university’s financial-aid site.
What public student feedback suggests
Public student comments reflect both strong attachment to campus and concerns about affordability. Reviewers often praise approachable professors, smaller classes, clubs, school spirit and the hockey and basketball culture. Others describe tuition and housing as expensive, question the amount of aid, or criticize dining and aspects of the social climate. These are voluntary personal accounts, not a representative survey, and experiences can vary by school, cohort and residence hall. When you visit, ask students in your intended program about faculty access and clinical or internship placements, and ask Financial Aid to show what your likely net cost would be after grants—not just the published tuition. You can read the underlying student reviews for more perspectives.
