About Inspire Scholarship — Delaware State University
Inspire is a Delaware State University scholarship, not a fund that follows a student to any campus. DSU offers it to graduates of Delaware high schools who enroll full-time for the fall semester immediately after graduation. The program page lists a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, a FAFSA and good conduct; the university reviews the admission file and notifies students of eligibility. The award covers tuition, while housing, meals, books, transport and any other charges outside tuition must be budgeted separately.
Renewal takes continued work, not just a qualifying high-school GPA. DSU requires at least 12 completed credits in fall and spring, a 2.75 cumulative GPA, ten community-service hours each semester, satisfactory conduct and a new FAFSA every year. It may renew for eight consecutive fall and spring semesters; summer is excluded. Before accepting, ask the aid office for an individual cost-of-attendance estimate and a list of charges the scholarship does not pay. Admission review and financial-aid eligibility are related but separate decisions.
The key difference between Inspire and SEED is the academic route. Inspire starts directly at DSU after high school and reduces tuition throughout the bachelor’s program if the student remains eligible. SEED can instead support an associate-degree route at DelTech or UD’s Associate in Arts Program, with its own conditions and potential transfer. Public student accounts are a reminder that tuition assistance does not automatically erase housing or food costs; they are not reviews of Inspire or a coverage promise. Ask Financial Aid which GPA calculation DSU uses, how service is documented and how federal aid is coordinated before accepting the offer.
Renewable full-tuition support for up to eight consecutive semesters at DSU for Delaware high-school graduates entering the fall immediately after graduation and meeting GPA, credit, service and conduct rules
