Nazarene Bible College

A nonprofit, online-first Bible college preparing adult learners for ministry through associate and bachelor’s degrees and ministry-preparation programs.

About Nazarene Bible College

Nazarene Bible College (NBC) is a nonprofit Christian college based in Colorado Springs that prepares adult learners for ministry. Since June 2020, instruction has been distance-only; the Colorado Springs address is now an administrative office rather than a residential campus. The online format is designed for students balancing church service, work and family, with new classes starting every seven weeks. Applicants should be comfortable with self-directed online study and should discuss how the college’s ministry focus fits their intended vocation.

Degrees, study formats and accreditation

The college offers an Associate of Arts in Ministry and a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry. BA majors include Bible and Theology, Counseling for Christian Ministries, Hispanic Pastoral Ministries, Leadership and Ethics, Pastoral Leadership, and Pastoral Ministries. The accelerated AdVantage structure is available for selected majors, while Spanish-language ministry preparation is also offered. Non-degree routes include the Ministry Preparation Program and its Spanish-language counterpart, which are intended for people pursuing ministry preparation in the Church of the Nazarene. The degree programs are online, with coursework structured in frequent start terms; review the college’s BA in Ministry program details and ask Admissions how transfer credit, prior learning and denominational requirements apply to your situation.

Accreditation needs particular attention before enrolling. As of October 31, 2026, NBC’s institutional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is on probation; HLC’s public actions page also lists the college’s voluntary resignation from HLC accreditation as effective November 1, 2026. That means prospective students should confirm which accreditor will recognize their program and how the transition affects transfer, employer or graduate-school plans. NBC also holds institutional accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), whose evaluation team visited in May 2026; its next Commission review was listed for 2027. Check the current ABHE fact sheet and ask the college or ABHE directly for the latest decision rather than relying on older listings.

Tuition and financial aid

The college’s published tuition schedule lists $430 per credit hour, plus a $75 library fee and $75 technology fee each term. The Ministry Preparation Program and its Spanish counterpart are listed at $238 per credit. Fees and rates can change, so confirm the current balance with NBC before registering. The college says about 92% of students receive some form of financial assistance, including federal grants, loans and scholarships; this is an institution-wide figure and does not predict an individual award.

NBC offers Pell Grants and other federal aid to eligible students, along with a limited number of institutional scholarships. Priority for school-funded aid goes to full-time students with demonstrated need and a GPA of at least 3.0; applicants must complete FAFSA, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and take a minimum of four credits per term. Students from Covenant Partner districts may qualify for a scholarship covering up to half of tuition in English-language degrees, or up to full tuition in Spanish-language programs, subject to eligibility and award terms. Review the current tuition and fee schedule and scholarship requirements before planning how much to borrow.

Student experience and practical details

Because the college no longer operates a teaching campus, students should plan on online participation; the Colorado Springs office is not a walk-in classroom location. The college lists office hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Its website labels the time zone as Central Time, although the office is in Colorado, so confirm the time zone when calling. The current office address is 2020 North Academy Boulevard, Suite 316, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909; the main number is (719) 884-5000. Google’s listing has no posted business hours.

Public comments about NBC often reflect alumni describing supportive professors, ministry preparation and a strong sense of connection with classmates. A smaller number of low-rated comments show that experiences differ, and online students may not experience community the same way as residents of an in-person college. Ask about faculty access, response times, advising, transfer-credit evaluations and the support available to students studying remotely. The college’s contact page provides office information; use its application and information request page to begin an inquiry or apply.
