HEIMA

A practical shop on Gillygate

HEIMA is an independent homeware and hardware shop at 34 Gillygate in York. The team says it has helped customers there since 2016, selecting everyday objects intended to be used and kept. Its website and physical store cover the home, kitchen, garden, table, bathroom, outdoor activities and gifts. Someone visiting for a particular tool or household item can browse online first, but should check current stock before making a special trip.

Home, kitchen and garden ranges

The assortment includes enamel cookware, stoneware, natural brushes, garden tools, seeds, lanterns and useful household accessories. Kitchen items are grouped around cooking, brewing, baking and preserving, while the garden range covers growing and maintenance. The outdoor collection includes equipment for outings and picnics. Product descriptions are worth reading for materials, size and care requirements: a traditional design or natural material does not necessarily suit every cleaning method or outdoor condition.

Refill and reuse

HEIMA highlights low-waste cleaning and laundry products, refillable options, soaps and practical substitutes for single-use items. Its selection also includes goods made for repeated everyday use. A customer can compare refill compatibility and container size before buying, particularly if a product will be used with equipment already at home. The shop’s gift area offers useful objects rather than only decorative souvenirs, and gift cards are available for someone who would rather choose in person.

Shopping online or in York

The York shop lists its address, telephone number and separate Sunday opening time. HEIMA also ships online orders and advertises a free UK delivery threshold, with delivery and returns policies published on the site. An online customer should verify the current shipping charge and estimated arrival in the basket. Staff who pack orders also help in the shop, so a question about an item’s dimensions, material or suitability can be sent before purchase.
