Argosy Toys

Argosy Toys, an independent toy shop in Westcliff-on-Sea

Argosy Toys is a toy retailer based at 553 London Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, operating under the Toymaster banner. The shop presents itself as a store-first business: its website states plainly that it does not offer a delivery service and that purchases are made in-store. The range is described as more than 8,000 different toys held in stock, and the site argues the offer is better appreciated in person.

Product range on the shelves

The catalogue is organised around broad toy categories rather than a single specialism. Listed sections cover arts, craft and creativity; science and nature; books; scooters, skates and skateboards, including helmets; outdoor play such as beach and sand toys, garden games, paddling pools, water fun, Nerf and kites; and sports collectibles.

Smaller-priced lines sit alongside these, including Funko Pop! figures, putty and slime, pocket-money items, Tech Decks and fidget toys. Construction and building sets are represented by Lego across its Classic, Creator, Disney, Duplo, Friends, Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Minecraft, Ninjago, Speed Champions, Star Wars, Superheroes, Technic and Icons ranges.

Dolls, figures and role play

Plush and soft toys include Jellycat, TY and Squishmallows. Role play spans play food, shopping and household sets, dressing-up and accessories, baby dolls, and construction and small-world play. Action figures, wooden rail sets, cars and vehicles, and dolls from Barbie, LOL and other lines are also listed, together with animal figures from Schleich, dinosaurs, Playmobil and Sylvanian Families, plus wooden playsets and playmats.

A baby and pre-school section covers new-baby gifts, little Jellycat baby items, developmental toys, role play, Tonies, pre-school wooden playsets, Disney Cars and dinosaurs. Games and puzzles form a further category, alongside trading cards and bags.

Gift vouchers and current listings

Argosy Toys sells its own gift vouchers starting at £5.00, with the amount chosen from a drop-down menu. The product listings shown at the time of writing included Jigglets/Jiggle Pals assorted at £2.00, KTL Squeezos Fluffy Cat Paw Squishies, Legami erasable pens in Butterfly and Giraffe designs at £2.00 each, and Mattel Monster High Clawdeen Wolf and Draculaura dolls at £29.99, the former marked as out of stock. Mattel Uno Flip and Uno Original card games were listed at £7.99, reduced from £11.99.

Shopping model and practical details

The site is explicit that the business is built around in-store shopping and does not run a delivery service, a point repeated in its header. The shop's own pages link to sections on delivery and returns, blogs, about us and contact, and the site is built on the ShopTill-e platform with an ePOS system. The footer carries a 2026 copyright notice for ArgosyToys.co.uk.
