SeatbeltExtender.co.uk: UK-based seat belt extenders for cars, pets and planes

SeatbeltExtender.co.uk is a UK-based online retailer specialising in seat belt extenders and related accessories. The company sells extenders for car seats, pet tethers and airplane seat belts, with a product range that adds between 12 cm and 80 cm of length to a standard seat belt. It presents itself as a source for safety-approved seat belt extensions in the UK and states that its products are designed to improve comfort and safety for passengers who need extra length or easier access to the buckle.

Car seat belt extenders in several lengths

The core catalogue consists of car seat belt extenders in fixed lengths of 12 cm, 23 cm and 36 cm, plus an adjustable model covering 30–80 cm. The extenders are described as compatible with a wide range of vehicle seats, including cars, vans, SUVs and motorhomes, and as fitting most brands and models. No installation is required: the metal tongue of the extender is inserted into the existing seat belt buckle until it clicks, and the seat belt is then fastened through the extender’s own buckle.

At the time of writing, the site listed the 12 cm extender at £9.99 (reduced from £12.99), the 23 cm at £11.99 (from £14.99), the 36 cm at £12.99 (from £19.99) and the 30–80 cm adjustable model at £16.99 (from £29.99).

Pet and airplane accessories

For pets, the shop offers adjustable dog car seat belt tethers that connect a suitable dog harness to a compatible rear-seat buckle, available with a harness clip and buckle attachment or with a harness clip only, both priced at £11.99 (reduced from £14.99). A waterproof pet rear hammock car seat cover is also listed at £24.99 (from £29.99). For air travel, the catalogue includes two FAA-compliant plane seat belt extenders priced at £35.00: Type A, adjustable from 18 to 61 cm, and Type B, described as Southwest-compatible. A 2-in-1 emergency car window breaker and seat belt cutter is sold for £4.99.

Materials and safety certifications

The extenders are made from ABS plastic and stainless steel, a combination the company says provides a robust fastening mechanism that resists wear. The site states that the products meet ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards, comply with UN Regulation No. 16 on safety belts and restraint systems, and that the manufacturer is registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation under 49 CFR Part 566. Certificates for DOT, ECE and ISO 9001 are referenced on the site.

Individual reviews mention uses such as making buckling easier for a child, improving access for a larger driver and fitting a dog harness; several reviewers note that the extenders are shorter than they appear in the photographs.
