About Pukka Pies
Pukka Pies, a Leicestershire bakery feeding Britain since 1963
Pukka Pies is a British pie maker based at The Halfcroft in Syston, Leicestershire. The company was founded by Trevor and Valerie Storer in 1963 and remains an independently run family business; its directors are their sons, Andrew and Tim Storer. The bakery still operates in Syston, close to the kitchen where the first Pukka pie was made. The company describes itself as having baked for the people of Britain for more than 55 years.
What the bakery produces
The range covers three main families of products: pies, slices and sausage rolls, with a frozen line also listed. Pukka presents the portfolio as offering "a Pukka for everyone, anytime, anywhere", from its established pies to flavoured slices and sausage rolls. The site's product references include a Mexican Cheese Slice and a Lamb, Pea & Mint pie.
Where Pukka products are sold
The company states that its pies, slices and sausage rolls are available in chip shops and in the chilled and frozen aisles of major supermarkets nationwide, naming Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Co-Op, Waitrose, Ocado, Iceland and Farmfoods, as well as many convenience stores. It also lists stadiums, chip shops, butchers, cafés and pubs across the country as points of sale. Pukka points to a stamp of quality on the bottom of its foils as an identifier of its products.
Trade customers
Pukka maintains dedicated trade pages for professional buyers, covering the product range, scheduled deliveries, point-of-sale material, sales tools and a social media toolkit. Trade enquiries are handled separately from general and press contacts.

Environmental measures
The company reports recycling the majority of its waste with none sent to landfill, and says its food waste is used to generate gas and then electricity. It monitors gas, water and electricity use on site and states it is working with Loughborough University to review water and electricity consumption and identify reductions. Pukka has removed the plastic window from its pie boxes, a change it says saves 11.4 tonnes of plastic annually. Packaging is made from Forest Stewardship Council-certified cardboard and is described as fully recyclable, and the foil used is also recyclable.
Community and sport
Pukka states it works with Fareshare to help distribute food to people who need it most, and supports Leicestershire-based charities near its bakery, including Rainbows Children's Hospice and LOROS Hospice, Open Hands for the Homeless and The 'Y'. The site also devotes a section to the company's involvement in sport.
