Alban Plumbing & Heating: plumbing, heating and gas work in St Albans

Alban Plumbing & Heating Ltd is a plumbing and heating contractor based on Lemsford Road in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The company states that it has been serving homes and businesses in St Albans and the surrounding Hertfordshire area since 2009, combining general plumbing, central heating, gas engineering and bathroom work under one operation. Its own presentation describes a team of qualified engineers and positions the firm around fixed, upfront quotes and a guarantee on all works.

The service area named on the site extends beyond St Albans to Hatfield, Hertford, Harpenden, Watford, Welwyn Garden City, Marshalswick, London Colney, Radlett and Redbourn.

Plumbing: from emergency pipe repairs to appliance installation

The plumbing side of the business covers both urgent breakdowns and planned work. Listed services include emergency pipe repairs, tap replacements, water leak detection, leaking shower repairs and toilet repairs, alongside installation of washing machines and dishwashers. The company also advertises water tank work and describes a 24/7 emergency plumber service for burst, cracked and leaking pipes, intended to limit further water damage.

Central heating and unvented hot water

On the heating side, the firm lists radiator installation, underfloor heating and powerflushing, the latter presented as a way to restore heat to cold radiators. It also handles unvented cylinders, offering installation, repair and replacement of these systems to maintain high-pressure hot water. The site frames this as both assessment of existing cylinders and advice on the appropriate route.

Gas and boiler services

Gas work is described as a core activity, carried out by engineers the company identifies as Gas Safe registered. The catalogue of services includes gas boiler installation, boiler repair and boiler servicing, gas heater installation, gas cooker and gas hob connection, gas appliance installation, gas leak detection and gas line repair. Beyond the boiler, the firm lists installation of gas hot water systems, barbecues and outdoor kitchens, gas safety inspections and pre-purchase property inspections.

Bathrooms and renovation

Bathroom work spans full installations and renovations as well as individual jobs such as toilet installation and bathroom leak repairs, with associated plumbing included. The company presents these as custom installations aimed at comfort and daily functionality, and says it can take on both isolated repairs and larger renovation projects.

How the firm presents its operation

Alban Plumbing & Heating describes a three-step process: booking an appointment by phone or online, an assessment and recommendation by a certified specialist, and completion of the work. It cites fast response times, transparent pricing without hidden charges and a 5-star rated service as reasons customers choose it. The figures published on the site are 15 or more years of experience, more than 600 completed projects, over 250 customers and more than 40 professional experts. These are the company's own stated numbers.

Customer comments reproduced on the site refer to repairs completed within an agreed time and budget, an underfloor heating problem resolved after three years of unsuccessful attempts elsewhere, and a burst pipe handled with the damaged pipes shown to the client. They are individual accounts rather than a verified aggregate rating.

Emergency cover and contact

Emergency call-out is a distinct part of the offer: the company advertises availability around the clock for urgent plumbing problems and advises contacting the team as soon as possible in those cases. Enquiries are handled by phone and through a contact form on the website.
