Stronghold Direct

Stronghold Direct: online architectural ironmongery from Southern Stronghold Ltd

Stronghold Direct is the e-commerce arm of Southern Stronghold Ltd, a family-run company whose activity centres on security hardware and architectural ironmongery. The business describes itself as having branches in the South of England and the Midlands, with a combined 80-plus years of trading in the sector, and dates its establishment to 1981. The online store presents itself as a catalogue of high-security products drawn from manufacturers it describes as world-leading.

Door furniture and handles

The door furniture range covers lever handles on plate and on rose, knob handles on rose, escutcheons, plates and turns, pull handles, front-door furniture and UPVC door handles. The site also lists window furniture, door and window bolts, push and kick plates, and anti-ligature locksets and handles, a category aimed at settings where ligature risk must be designed out.

Locks, latches and cylinders

Under locks and latches, the catalogue groups mortice locks and latches, padlocks, rim locks and nightlatches, cylinders, digital locks, hasp and staples, cycle and motorcycle security, additional door security, gate hardware, window security and utility locks. Cylinders and cylinder pulls appear as separate lines, and the store notes that extra keys are available for locking products.

Door closers, hinges and exit hardware

Door closers are divided into overhead, concealed and electromagnetic or free-swing models, and the company states they are suitable for residential and industrial applications. The hinge selection is unusually broad: fire door hinges, parliament and protection hinges, concealed hinges, butt hinges, T hinges, hook and band hinges, hinge fronts, butterfly hinges, H and HL hinges and miscellaneous hinges. Exit hardware includes emergency push bars, push pads and levers, outside access devices and exit door signage.

Safes, key storage and site accessories

The safes and cabinets section lists safes, key safes and key cabinets in a range of sizes for home and business use, alongside cigarette bins. Further categories cover cabinet furniture, alarm kits and accessories, coloured hardware, curtain poles and accessories, healthcare solutions, key accessories, signage, stops, hooks and accessories, and weatherseals and thresholds. A clearance section is also part of the catalogue.

Brands stocked

Named brands on the site include M.Marcus, Heritage Brass, York Security, Sorrento, Arrone, From The Anvil, Hoppe, Tudor, Asec, Union and Cisa. The store presents these as part of a comprehensive range of quality and high-security products.

Stronghold Direct positions its staff as able to assist with architectural ironmongery and specification requirements, and states that its team is available before, during and after sale.
