Cordless Power

Cordless Power: battery-powered garden machinery retail in the UK

Cordless Power is the trading name of Calgary Just Companies Limited, a family business registered in England and Wales. The company operates cordlesspower.co.uk, which it describes as the UK's first website dedicated to cordless garden machinery. It reports more than 55 years of experience in the garden machinery sector and states that it has been active since 1965.

The online catalogue covers battery-powered equipment for lawn and garden maintenance, with a focus on cordless tools rather than petrol alternatives. The company presents cordless machinery as cleaner, quieter and safer than petrol-powered equivalents, while emphasising performance and durability.

Product range

The store is organised around the main categories of garden machinery. The catalogue includes:

• Lawn mowers, divided into walk-behind, ride-on and robot models
• Grass trimmers and hedge trimmers
• Chainsaws and polesaws
• Blowers
• Multi-tools and multi-tool attachments
• Aerators and chippers
• Batteries and chargers
• Lawn mower accessories, miscellaneous accessories, and oils, solvents and resins

Within the lawn mower range, the site lists both push and self-propelled models, as well as autonomous robot mowers. Examples in the featured selection include the AL-KO 42.2Li and 46.2Li 36V push mowers, the Stihl RMA 243, the Stiga Collector 48S AE self-propelled mower, the Mountfield SP185 Li self-propelled mower, the Bosch Easy 3.82 Li R, and the Stiga GYRO 900e axial zero-turn ride-on mower. The robot mower selection includes the Stiga A 6v, A 10v and A 50v models.

Brands stocked

Cordless Power lists cordless garden tools from a range of manufacturers: AL-KO, Atco, Bosch, Cobra, Echo, Ego, Honda, Mountfield, Stiga and Stihl. The company states that it is a main agent or dealer for most leading garden machinery brands and that it has direct access to over £20 million of stock through its main dealer accounts with manufacturers.

Two battery systems are highlighted on the site. Ego tools are powered by 56V ARC Lithium batteries, while Stihl offers the AK System for garden owners and domestic users and the AP System for more demanding work. Stiga battery-powered lawn mowers use STIGA ePower batteries.

Ordering, delivery and support

Orders are dispatched from the company's own warehouse facility in North Norfolk. The company offers fast delivery to UK mainland addresses, excluding some Scottish and offshore postcodes. Online payments are processed through Braintree 128-bit encryption technology or PayPal.

After-sales support covers consumables, spare parts, servicing and other needs. The company states that it does not sell spare parts directly and directs customers to its sister company, Anglia Mowers, for parts. All products carry a full manufacturer's warranty, and the company notes that manufacturers have nationwide after-sales service networks, many with facilities in the UK.

Customers who are unhappy with a purchase can request a replacement or a full refund within 14 days of receipt, subject to the company's terms and conditions. Sales advice and general enquiries are handled by a sales team described as having extensive knowledge of the products sold.
