The K9 Paddocks

The K9 Paddocks: countryside dog daycare in Essex

The K9 Paddocks is a licensed and insured dog daycare operating across 3.5 acres of secure paddocks in the Essex countryside. The site combines outdoor paddock space with a cosy indoor area used for rest, giving dogs a mix of supervised activity and downtime during the day. The business describes itself as operating a pick-up and drop-off only service, a model it says allows it to keep group sizes under control.

How the daycare day is organised

Dogs are supervised at all times and grouped according to size, energy level and play style. According to the site, each day is structured around supervised social play in matched groups, scheduled rest periods in a calm setting, regular toilet breaks and enrichment activities intended to support physical and mental wellbeing. The stated aim is that dogs go home exercised and relaxed rather than overstimulated.

Socialisation, confidence and manners

Beyond exercise, the daycare frames its work around positive socialisation and gentle guidance. The programme includes work on recall, lead manners, impulse control and settling, skills the business says are meant to carry over into the home environment. The founder describes deliberately avoiding overcrowded or chaotic group play in favour of smaller, carefully managed groups where each dog is treated as an individual.

Admission requirements

Two conditions apply before a dog can attend. Vaccinations must be up to date, and each dog must complete a temperament assessment. The site also advertises a complimentary trial day, presented as a limited-time offer.

Coverage area

The service lists Ingatestone, Billericay, Basildon, Brentwood and other surrounding communities among the areas it serves, and invites enquiries from owners unsure whether their location falls within the coverage area.

Background and licensing

The daycare was founded by Shara, who began by boarding and dog sitting in a home environment before setting up the paddock-based operation. The site states that a team section is still to come. The licence number 26/1037/BOARD is published on the site.
