Earthsong Seeds

Organic herb seeds from the Chew Valley

Earthsong Seeds is a small land-based nursery in the Chew Valley, North Somerset. It sells herb seeds, themed collections and live plants to people who want to grow their own herbs. The business says its aim is to make herb growing and home preparations more approachable, while caring for biodiversity on the land it uses.

Seeds, plants and collections

Individual seed packs include herbs such as coriander, dill, parsley, anise and rhodiola. The site also groups seeds into collections for a kitchen garden, herbal tea, bee-friendly planting, beginners and other themes. Live plants and bare-root plants provide another route for customers who prefer a started plant to sowing seeds. The online catalogue specifies species, approximate seed counts and stock availability for each item.

Growing practices and ordering

Earthsong says all its seed packs are certified organic by the Soil Association and that around 85 percent of the seeds it sells are grown in its own nursery. It links that work to agroecology and increasing plant and wildlife diversity locally. Example prices shown include GBP 2.50 for a coriander or parsley pack and GBP 15.99 for several six-pack garden collections. These examples are subject to stock and change. The shop ships within the UK and states that orders are dispatched Monday through Thursday; this dispatch schedule is separate from opening hours for visits, which are not given.
