Alfresia

Alfresia, outdoor furniture and garden living from Rochdale

Alfresia is a British retailer of outdoor furniture and garden accessories that has been trading since 2006. The company presents its range as stylish, comfortable outdoor furniture built around quality, durability and modern design, and its catalogue is sold exclusively in the United Kingdom. The business is owned and operated by Vale Mill, John Street, Rochdale, Lancashire, and the site describes the furniture sets as combining durable materials with a contemporary look intended to withstand the British climate.

Furniture sets in aluminium, acacia and polywood

The furniture range is organised around complete table and chair sets for dining, entertaining or relaxing on a patio, decking or lawn. The catalogue lists nine furniture set products, among them bistro sets, lounge and sofa configurations and larger dining groups.

• Aluminium bistro sets with two armchairs and either a square coffee table or a round dining table, presented as suited to smaller gardens.
• A two-seater acacia hardwood bistro set with two chairs and a round table.
• A table and bench dining set described as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
• A four-piece aluminium sofa set comprising a table, a double sofa and two single chairs.
• A three-piece lounge set with a two-seater sofa and two chairs, in a natural wood-look finish.
• A five-piece aluminium dining set with four armchairs and a square table, built on a solid aluminium frame that does not rust and topped with polywood that imitates real wood without the need for treating or oiling.

The five-piece dining set is detailed with polyester seat and back cushions and a minimalist design featuring a rope-weaving effect on the chairs. At the time of writing this profile, the site listed prices for these sets ranging from £199.99 for the bistro models to £799.99 for the four-piece sofa set, with reduced prices shown alongside.

Cushions designed, filled and finished in the UK

Replacement cushions form a substantial part of the offer, with fifteen garden cushion products listed. The company states that every cushion is filled in the UK, a decision it links to stricter quality control at each stage and to support for British craftsmanship. Cushions use 100% polyester water-resistant fabric and are available with luxury or classic foam fillings.

The cushion catalogue covers swing seat cushions, sun lounger cushions, recliner cushions, relaxer cushions, steamer deck chair cushions, bench cushions, seat pads and conservatory cushions. The site also advertises multi-buy discounts on replacement cushions: 5% off when buying two, 10% off for three and 15% off for four or more.

Parasols, bases, covers and outdoor heating

Shade and protection products complete the range. The parasol collection includes a 2m model with push-button control and tilt function, a 2.7m parasol with tilt function in a choice of five colours, and a 3m cantilever parasol with push control and tilt. Bases are offered as a four-part cantilever base and a round 22-litre fillable base, both designed to be filled with water or sand. Matching covers are sold for the 2m, 2.7m and 3m cantilever parasols.

Beyond parasols, the catalogue groups garden swing seats (four products), storage and covers (seven products), outdoor heating (three products), garden recliners (two), garden relaxers (two) and garden sun loungers (four). The site's editorial section also discusses gas fire pits as an outdoor heating option.
