About Soha Housing

Soha Housing: affordable homes and community support in Oxfordshire and beyond

Soha Housing is a resident-led, not-for-profit housing association that provides affordable homes and works to build vibrant communities across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, and West Berkshire. The organisation describes itself as a social landlord and operates as a charitable registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefits Society Act 2014, with registration number 28410R. It is authorised and regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Housing options and tenancy support

Soha offers a range of housing-related services for people at different stages. For tenants, the organisation provides guidance on changing a tenancy, repairs and maintenance, and property adaptations. It also addresses damp, mould and condensation issues, and explains what Awaab’s Law means for residents. Safety at home is another area covered, with information on hazards and reporting.

For those looking to move, Soha provides advice on mutual exchanges, managed transfers and direct lets. It also lists homes to rent and options to buy a home. Specific housing schemes include Retirement, Independent and Extra Care living, housing for people aged 55 and over, and services for people with dementia. The organisation also offers support for those staying in their own home.

Support services for residents

Soha runs a Tenancy Sustainment team that assists residents in difficulty with practical support and expertise. The organisation also provides safeguarding and domestic abuse support, and guidance during the cost-of-living crisis. It helps residents check they are claiming all they are entitled to, including bedroom tax, benefit cap, discretionary housing payments, personal independence payment and universal credit.

For money matters, Soha offers tenancy support and information on paying rent and service charges. Residents can report anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood issues, and access a policy library with all policies and summaries in one place.

Community engagement and resident voice

As a resident-led organisation, Soha encourages involvement through membership and resident-led groups. There is a Sounding Board and opportunities to join the Board. The Soha Community Fund provides grants to local projects; in the last year, 40 applicants received awards for community initiatives across Oxfordshire. An Estates Improvement Grant is also available.

The organisation publishes a resident newsletter and runs events. It has piloted a new AI app to help Oxfordshire residents strengthen community connections, securing almost £120,000 through the Government’s Social Housing Innovation Fund in partnership with SNG and Clarion Housing Group.

Repairs and maintenance through Soha Response

Soha Response is the repairs and maintenance arm of Soha Housing. It has been awarded national health and safety accreditation: Smas Workspace. The organisation also has a long record of delivering apprenticeship programmes, and Soha Response welcomed two new apprenticeships in 2026.

Residents can report a repair via MySoha, webchat or the Customer Service team. Soha also provides guidance on testing heating before the weather turns and reporting hazards immediately.

Accreditations and recognition

Soha’s Independent Living and Extra Care team has renewed its Erosh accreditation, a prestigious recognition for its services. The organisation has also received the Government’s gold standard for its data approach, which it says offers reassurance. In 2026, Soha welcomed 160 households and their properties through a transfer of homes with L&Q.

Soha Housing is committed to transparency and publishes Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs), service standards and Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs). It also maintains a modern slavery statement and a policy library.
