About Renewable Helpline

Air-source heat pump aftercare from a Preston base

Renewable Helpline is a UK specialist in the servicing, maintenance and ongoing support of air-source heat pumps (ASHP). The company presents itself as distinct from general plumbing and heating firms by concentrating specifically on renewable heating systems. Its own team of specialists is described as qualified and experienced, and the service is aimed at homeowners who want their systems kept efficient, safe and reliable over time.

The operation is run by DM Developments (Inskip) Ltd from Preston and covers mainland UK. The company frames its work around the idea that renewable systems need specialist aftercare and honest advice beyond the point of installation.

Care plans and what each tier covers

The core offer is a set of 12-month fixed-term maintenance agreements, payable monthly or annually, available to private domestic residential properties in mainland UK. Every plan begins with an onboarding inspection in which a qualified engineer assesses the heat pump's condition and confirms it is operating correctly, followed by an annual service with full documentation.

  • Essential Care (£15/month): annual servicing including visual inspection of indoor and outdoor units, electrical and control safety checks, an operational performance review, filter and strainer inspection, condensate and drainage checks, glycol level check, service documentation and member support.
  • Complete Care (£18/month): everything in Essential Care plus inspection of the hot water cylinder, checks on safety devices and controls, a system-wide performance review and basic performance optimisation.
  • Priority Care (£30/month): everything in Complete Care plus labour for diagnostics and maintenance, fault identification and investigation, care of the outdoor unit and hydrobox, controls, pipework and sensors, priority access to service visits and priority member support.
  • Combined plan (£43/month): Priority Care for the heat pump together with Solar-Shield from Roof Helpline, covering an annual roof inspection, gutter care, solar panel maintenance and an annual PV clean. The company states this saves £16 a month compared with subscribing separately.

Scope and exclusions

The plans are service and maintenance agreements rather than insurance policies. Replacement parts, materials, system upgrades and full system replacement are not included and are charged separately. Commercial or business-use properties are not eligible, and the heat pump must be fully installed and operational at the start date with no known pre-existing faults. Plans run for a minimum of 12 months; paying monthly does not create a rolling contract, and the agreements auto-renew unless the customer says otherwise, with advance notice of any changes.

Repairs, diagnostics and advice

Alongside the plans, the company lists fast fault-finding and repairs carried out by its specialists, as well as guidance to help homeowners get the best from their systems. Warranty-supporting maintenance records are provided with servicing, intended to meet manufacturer requirements. Through selected packages the company also extends support to Solar PV care and combined home cover.

How the service is organised

Work is structured in three stages: the onboarding inspection, the annual ASHP service with inspection, safety checks and performance review, and priority support for Priority Care members.
