Andermatt Home & Garden

Andermatt Home & Garden: biological pest control for home and garden

Andermatt Home & Garden is a UK-based online retailer specialising in biological and more environmentally-sustainable products for the home and garden. The company states that Andermatt was founded over 30 years ago by two PhD students, Mr and Mrs Andermatt, who created the world's first plant-protecting baculovirus. The shop presents itself as a leader in biocontrol and frames its purpose around enjoying a home and garden without a cost to the environment.

Pest control catalogue

The range is organised around specific pests rather than generic categories. The site lists products and advice for ants, aphids, apple sawfly, bed bugs, black fly, box moth, carrot root fly, caterpillars, chafer beetle, clothes moth, codling moth, fungus gnats, fleas, flies, green fly, hornet, horse fly, mealybug, mole, mouse, poultry mite, scale, sciarid flies, silver fish, slugs and snails, spider mites, spotted wing drosophila, thrips, varroa mite, vine weevil, wasps, whitefly and woodlice.

Among the named products in the catalogue are Nattaro Scout bed bug traps and refills, Nattaro Bed Bug Stopper, InsectoSec Tape, InsectoSec Pet Care, InsectoSec Crawling Insect Killer, Yellow Card Dry Glue Sticky Traps, BugNet Bug Killer Spray concentrate, an Asian Hornet Trap with ferrules, a Wasp Trap and Liquid Wasp Attractant.

Garden, houseplant and outdoor ranges

Beyond pest control, the shop groups its offer into houseplant care, biological controls, fleece and netting, fertilisers, insect traps, rust protection, garden tools and furniture, and products for cars, bikes and boats. Named items include BioFleece 18 and BioFleece 30, InsectoNet plastic-free insect net, GroPure House Plants and GroPure House Plants Pump, GroPure All-Purpose Organic Fertiliser, Nitro-Boost, anhydrous lanolin, and the EWE STOP RUST garden tool spray, grease and paste.

The site highlights two newer lines: a plastic-free, biodegradable netting described as made from plants rather than petroleum, and GroPure, a liquid organic fertiliser sourced from plant waste that extracts nutrients before bottling.

Bee health and poultry

A dedicated bee health section covers varroa treatment and related equipment, including Varroxal, Oxuvar 5.7% for trickling and spraying, Thymovar, Varrox EDDY, a Varrox vaporizer, MAQs and an automatic syringe. The catalogue also includes a poultry mite killer and a section for chickens.

Advice, bundles and practical information

The site combines the shop with a pest library and pest advice pages, including guides on bed bugs, box tree caterpillar, clothes moth, codling moth, fungus gnats, vine weevil and slug control, plus instructional videos and a bee blog. Garden bundles and gifts are also offered. According to the shop, shipping is free on orders of £30 or more. The company publishes delivery and returns information and invites customers to send ideas, experiences or questions by email.
