JP Goddard Fencing & Decking

Garden fencing, decking and artificial grass from Penarth

JP Goddard Fencing & Decking is a small, family-run landscaping business based in Penarth that designs, supplies and builds garden fencing, decked areas and artificial lawns. The company states it has operated since 1996 and describes more than twenty years of experience in the trade, with a team it presents as fully licensed and insured.

Its stated coverage centres on Penarth and the surrounding area, extending across South Wales to Cardiff, Bridgend, the Vale of Glamorgan, Newport and beyond. It works for both residential and commercial properties, including what it describes as large corporate environments, city parks, shops and apartments.

Decking design, supply and installation

Decking is handled as a design-led service: the company says its design work aims to make the most of a garden whatever its size, shape or levels. The scope runs from design through supply to construction, with each project made to measure and built to the client's requirements. The same service is presented as suitable for both domestic gardens and commercial grounds.

Fencing, gates and artificial lawns

• Fencing: a full range of garden fencing services, including the installation of new fencing and the maintenance of existing fences and gates, with privacy cited as a central purpose.
• Artificial grass: supply of artificial lawns presented as realistic and maintenance-free, positioned as an alternative to muddy natural lawns.
• Maintenance and repairs: upkeep and repair work for decking and fencing that is worn, old or damaged.

How the company works

JP Goddard states that a single landscape designer follows each job from the initial concept on paper through to completion on the property, so the client deals with one person throughout. The company also describes a day-scheduling arrangement in which it returns to a property on the same day and time each week, and it offers free consultations with an actual quote rather than an estimate alone. It presents its projects as finished on time and within budget.

Team and credentials

The business is led by Paul Goddard, described as CEO and senior tradesman, who combines management with hands-on workmanship. A second tradesman, Paul Jones, is credited with many years in the building trade and skills across hard landscaping, including paving and woodwork. The wider team is presented as fully qualified, health and safety trained and insured.

Reputation and client feedback

The company describes itself as having built a strong local reputation over more than two decades and, in its own presentation, as Cardiff and the Vale's first choice. The site carries short testimonials from customers in Penarth, Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Canton, which comment on punctuality, site cleanliness, attention to the client's own design ideas and the finish of completed decking.
