About Websites for Tradespeople

Fixed-price websites for UK tradespeople

Websites for Tradespeople designs and builds websites aimed at plumbers, electricians, builders, roofers, landscapers, carpenters, decorators, plasterers, tilers, handymen and locksmiths. The studio frames the purpose of a trade site narrowly: turning a customer browsing on a phone into a phone call. The operation is run by JW Digital Services Ltd, registered with Companies House under number 15243830, and describes itself as Manchester based while working with trades across the UK.

The commercial model is a single fixed price agreed in writing after a short conversation about the trade and the area covered. The published packages are Starter from £295, Essentials from £595 and Business from £995, and any package can be split into twelve interest-free monthly payments, with Starter quoted from £24.58 a month. The company states that the price does not change once work begins and that nothing is payable until the client approves.

What the build includes

The sites are structured around lead capture rather than acting as an online brochure. The phone number sits at the top of every page and remains within thumb reach while scrolling, with WhatsApp alongside it where the client uses it. The quote form asks for a postcode, the job and a photo, then emails the enquiry and stores it so it is not lost.

  • Accreditation badges such as Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, TrustMark, CHAS and FMB placed near the quote button, each linking to the relevant register; only credentials actually held are displayed.
  • Individual pages for each service, such as boiler swaps, consumer unit changes, flat roofs or patios, with their own photos and quote buttons.
  • Area pages that describe the towns covered, the jobs done there and the distance travelled, rather than duplicated text with a changed place name.
  • Google reviews displayed on the client's own site, and a gallery built from job photos taken on a phone, including before-and-after shots.
  • Lightweight pages and correctly sized images, tested on a real phone, with the technical groundwork for search built in during the project.

Process from enquiry to launch

The workflow has three stages. It begins with three questions, either on a form or in a short call, covering the work the client wants more of, the area they will travel to and the accreditations they hold. That produces a fixed price, scope and timescale in writing. The studio then writes the copy from that conversation, so the client's task is checking facts rather than drafting text, and the client sends job photos and certificates from a phone while the pages are designed. A preview is checked on the client's own phone before publication. At launch the site goes live on a domain registered in the client's name, with calls and quote requests going directly to them and a handover note listing what they own and where it is held.

Ownership, hosting and ongoing work

The company draws an explicit contrast with subscription website builders: the domain, site files, words and photos belong to the client from launch day and can be taken elsewhere. Hosting and maintenance are optional monthly plans that can be left at the end of any paid month, and the site travels with the client if they do. A separate fixed monthly SEO plan covers Google Business Profile, reviews, service pages and listings, reported in calls and enquiries rather than rankings, and can also be cancelled at the end of any paid month.

Client sites cited as examples

The studio lists live client projects built by JW Digital Services Ltd, including SC Plumbing & Heating, a Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating firm in Liverpool with service pages for boilers, heating and emergency call-outs; ADL Groundworks, a groundworks and civil engineering contractor covering Manchester and the North West with project-type pages and an area-served structure; and Vince Ward Gardens, a landscaping and garden design business in Manchester with a gallery-led site. The site also reports six client reviews and a rating of five out of five on Google, attributed to the information available at the time of writing.
