New Cakes

New Cakes: personalised celebration cakes delivered across the UK

New Cakes is a family-run cake business, with more than fifteen years of trading according to its own presentation, that produces handmade celebration cakes to order and ships them throughout the United Kingdom. The company describes its catalogue as covering over 500 designs and states that it has delivered more than 60,000 cakes. Its range is built around fully personalised cakes, with names, messages, colours and other details added at checkout, and every cake is finished with sugarpaste fondant.

The business operates primarily as an online shop, with orders placed through its website or by telephone.

Birthday cakes organised by recipient

A large part of the catalogue is grouped by who the cake is for, which makes it easier to narrow down a design:

• Girls' birthday cakes: characters, handbag and makeup designs, pet cakes, hobby and music themes and pretty styles, from £48.
• Boys' birthday cakes: aeroplanes and spaceships, character cakes, cars and vehicles, hobbies and music, sports and video games, from £48.
• Women's birthday cakes: food cakes, humorous designs, handbag and makeup, hobby cakes, pets and animals and pretty cakes, from £48.
• Men's birthday cakes: aeroplanes and spaceships, boozy alcohol cakes, cars, vehicles, boats and trains, character cakes, hobbies, video games and music, work cakes and sports cakes, from £48.

Number cakes and photo cakes

Number cakes are presented as the best-selling line. They can be made in any number and for any age, with a choice of seven sponge flavours, custom colours and a personalised message, and are priced from £55. The photo cake range, priced from £45, allows customers to upload their own image to be reproduced on the cake. Occasion cakes, covering weddings, baby showers, graduations and similar events, start at £52.

Occasions and treat boxes

Beyond birthdays, the shop lists cakes for anniversaries, baby showers, christenings, Christmas, Easter, engagements, festivals, graduations, retirements, Valentine's Day and Halloween. It also sells treat boxes, including a doughnut treat box and a festive small treat box, alongside seasonal lines such as Mother's Day cupcakes, doughnuts and cookies.

Corporate cake orders

New Cakes works with UK companies on logo and branded cakes, with logos, colours and messages reproduced in fondant, as well as logo cupcake boxes for gifting, meetings or product launches. The company also offers catering for large events, with hand delivery available within 20 miles of its Maidenhead studio, and assigns a dedicated account manager to corporate clients from first enquiry through to delivery. Its corporate page names Amazon, BT, Just Eat, Lego, Five Guys, Captain Morgan and Chubb among the companies it has worked with.

Ordering and customer feedback

Orders can be placed online or by phone, and the site describes a four-step process: choosing a design, personalising it, having it baked and packaged, and receiving it by tracked DHL delivery. The company states that it holds an Excellent rating on Trustpilot and quotes several verified reviews, including one from a customer who reports buying cakes from New Cakes for close to ten years.
