About Chloe's Dog Grooming

One-to-one dog grooming from a purpose-built trailer in Littleport

Chloe's Dog Grooming is a dog grooming business based in Littleport, in the Cambridgeshire Fens. It describes its work as one-to-one grooming, meaning each dog is handled individually rather than in a shared salon environment. The service operates from a purpose-built grooming trailer equipped with a Spa Dog Pro hydrobath, set in the Fenland countryside overlooking the paddocks where the owner keeps her ponies. Parking is available directly outside.

The business is run by Chloe Giles, who presents herself as an entrepreneur, a former NHS leader and a lifelong animal lover. She describes grooming as more than a trim, framing it around calm and compassionate handling for both dogs and their owners.

Grooming and Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning

The service range covers routine and full grooming as well as dental cleaning for animals. The site lists the following:

  • Wash, blow-dry and go appointments
  • Full grooming
  • Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning for dogs and cats

Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning is offered as a distinct service alongside grooming, and the business states it is fully trained, certified and qualified to deliver it. The site also mentions Emmi-Pet clinics among its sections.

Training and qualifications

The profile sets out a detailed list of formal training behind the service. Chloe Giles holds a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification in dog grooming and a Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Dog Grooming & Salon Management, with a distinction in hand stripping. She is also certified in canine and human first aid and states she is insured.

Beyond the core qualifications, the site lists additional specialist training: an Introduction to Asian Fusion Grooming through Groomers Pro and Tellington TTouch training through Xtra Dog Academy. According to the business, these courses support greater comfort, styling options and gentle handling techniques, including for nervous or special-care dogs.

Background before grooming

The owner's earlier career is described at length. She began as a printing apprentice and later worked as a magazine designer in London, then moved into media sales with Viacom Outdoor. In 2003 she launched Gee Gee Images, an equestrian media and event photography business, which she later diversified into equestrian-themed jewellery before selling it.

She moved to Cambridgeshire in 2005 and, with her husband Henry, opened Pond House Stables in 2008, a British Horse Society-approved livery yard where she provided full livery for nine horses. She holds a British Horse Society Level 3 qualification and a Riding and Road Safety Instructor qualification. In 2012 she founded eventswhatson.com, a regional lifestyle and events platform covering East Anglia and later the South of England, which she sold in 2022.

From 2019 she worked at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, including frontline roles during the COVID-19 crisis, for which she received an NHS COVID Star. Her roles there included PA to senior nursing leaders, data compliance administration in blood sciences, communications business management, directorate support management in oncology and trust risk management until May 2025. She also chaired the REACH staff network and completed a Level 3 NHS Data Citizen apprenticeship and formal NHS risk management certification.

Her first experience of dog handling dates to her teenage years at Spangleberry Kennels, where she walked, bathed and groomed dogs during weekends and holidays.
