Independent Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda specialists across the Midlands

Lion Garage is an independent garage group focused on four Volkswagen Group marques: Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda. Its branches are spread across the Midlands, with sites in Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Nottingham, Lichfield, Derby and Birmingham. The company states that it can carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and MOTs on any Audi, Seat, VW or Skoda model.

According to its own presentation, the group positions itself on competitive pricing and on servicing and repair work it describes as first class. It also states that its staff are experienced and fully trained and that the workshops use approved equipment.

Work carried out at the branches

The range of work described on the site is organised around four areas:

• Servicing of Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda vehicles.
• Repairs on the same four marques.
• Diagnostics.
• MOT testing.

The Birmingham branch adds air conditioning to that list, alongside specialist repairs, servicing, diagnostics and MOTs for all VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda models.

Branch network and trading names

The group operates under the Lion Garage name in Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley and Nottingham. Three of its locations trade under separate names: the Lichfield branch as Mackenzies, the Derby branch as McEwans and the Birmingham branch as S.P. Simnett.

The Birmingham operation, located in Cradley Heath, was announced as a new branch in January 2017. The company notes that S.P. Simnett has been established for over 30 years and that the site serves West Midlands areas including Halesowen, Stourbridge, Hagley and Bromsgrove.

Finding the nearest workshop

The website includes a branch locator intended to direct customers to their local Lion Garage. Each branch is listed with its own telephone number, and the group presents the network as covering the Midlands rather than a single town.
