BassBros

BassBros: a bass shop run by bass players in Warwickshire

BassBros is a British retailer specialising in rare, vintage and used bass guitars. The company was established in 2020 by Will and Jack, described on the site as professional musicians and childhood friends who toured worldwide and worked extensively within the music industry before setting up a shop conceived by bass players for bass players. The business is operated by Bassbros Limited, registered with Companies House in England & Wales under company number 12699454, with a registered office at Celixir House, Stratford Business and Technology Park, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 7GZ.

Instrument stock and brands

The catalogue centres on second-hand and collectable bass guitars, presented with individual descriptions that note details such as component dates, finish and condition. Examples listed on the site at the time of writing include a 1981 Fender Precision Bass, a 1981 Ibanez RS924 Roadstar in Traditional Violin finish, a 2006 Gibson Thunderbird Studio in cherry, a 2017 Fender American Elite Precision Bass in Natural with a PJ pickup configuration, a 2000 Fender Japan PB-62 Precision Bass in Lake Placid, a 1983 Yamaha BB3000 in Metallic Red and a 1976 Bicentennial Gibson Thunderbird. The shop also organises its stock by brand and maintains a section for instruments already sold.

Beyond basses: amplification, effects and accessories

Alongside bass guitars, the store's catalogue covers amplification, effects pedals, accessories, cases and gig bags, strings, cleaning products and stands. It also sells its own merchandise line, described as a collection of designs produced with high-quality materials.

Set-up and workshop

A stated priority of the business is that every instrument leaves its headquarters in the best possible condition, with a personalised set-up provided for each customer. The site includes a workshop section within its range of services.

Buying, selling and trading

BassBros accepts instruments in part-exchange or outright purchase through a sell-or-trade service, aimed both at customers offloading a bass and at those looking for their next instrument. Orders can be tracked through an account area, and the company states that worldwide shipping is available on all orders.

Finance and regulatory status

Bassbros Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 1010464. The company acts as a credit broker rather than a lender and offers finance from a panel of lenders.

Showroom visits and content

The showroom in Leamington Spa operates by appointment only. The site also publishes a blog with long-form guides, including an introduction to learning bass, a history of the Yamaha BB series and an article on the resurgence of real bass guitar in pop recordings, and invites customers to join a newsletter covering new arrivals, live video demos, offers and giveaways.
