Painters Paradise

Painters Paradise, an independent decorators' merchant in Launceston

Painters Paradise is a family-owned, independent merchant for decorators that combines trade and retail paint supply with nationwide delivery across the United Kingdom. Its base is at Unit 2B Quarry Crescent in Launceston, Cornwall, and the business presents itself as a destination for decorating, pairing local service with shipping beyond its immediate area.

The catalogue is organised around four main shopping routes: paints, paint brushes, rollers, and dust sheets and floor protection. Beyond these, the store groups products by brand and by project, and maintains sections for special offers and new products.

Paint brands stocked

The range brings together major trade and premium decorative brands. The site lists Caparol, Farrow & Ball, Benjamin Moore, Crown Trade, Johnstones Trade, Macpherson, Tikkurila, Toupret and Zinsser, alongside Dulux Trade. Each brand has its own section describing the type of coatings it covers; Tikkurila is presented as a premium brand made in Finland, while Zinsser is described as solving demanding painting problems since 1849.

Beyond the headline brands, the catalogue also references Bird Brand, a UK manufacturer of specialist solvents and surface preparation products, and Blackfriar, which has manufactured paints, stains and varnishes in the UK.

Product categories for different decorating tasks

The shop-by-category structure covers a wide set of applications rather than a single product line. Among the categories shown are:

• Acrylic eggshell, described as a tough, washable mid-sheen finish for interiors
• Anti-damp, anti-mould and anti-vandal or anti-graffiti coatings
• Bathroom and ceiling paints
• Breathable interior paints formulated for period and historic homes
• Exterior masonry paints
• Cladding paints and decking treatments
• Aerosols, cleaning products and cleaning wipes
• Access equipment, bib and brace, and brush sets

There is also a dedicated collection for commercial projects, aimed at larger jobs such as schools.

Trade deals and featured lines

The site maintains a trade deals section and a new products area. Among the featured items at the time of writing were Crown Trade Matt Vinyl Emulsion in tinted colours, the Kana plastic paint kettle, and Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Eggshell in a 1-gallon (3.79 L) size, shown with a reduced price. Benjamin Moore Ben Interior Matt also appeared as a sale line.

The new products listing centred on Dulux Trade WeatherShield Smooth Masonry, offered in a series of named colours including White Cotton, Willow Tree, Gallant Grey, Chic Shadow, Almond White, Polished Pebble, RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, Egyptian Cotton and Timeless.
