About Butler Interiors

Butler Interiors: German kitchens designed for Lancaster and Kendal

Butler Interiors is a family-owned kitchen design company with showrooms in Lower Bentham (Lancaster) and Kirkby Lonsdale (Kendal). The business presents itself as a small, family-run operation with roots in the rural community, and states that it competes in the kitchen design market with kitchens made exclusively to suit each client's individual wants and needs.

The company describes its offer as bringing together service, kitchen furniture and design, with German manufacturing partners behind the construction of its kitchens.

Kitchen ranges and manufacturing partners

Butler Interiors works with German kitchen brands and devotes a dedicated showroom to each:

  • Schüller — presented at the Lancaster (Low Bentham) showroom. The company describes Schüller as striving to stay one step ahead in kitchen design, launching new ranges while maintaining the quality and reliability associated with the brand.
  • next125 — presented at the South Lakes showroom in Kendal (Kirkby Lonsdale). Butler Interiors describes next125 as a luxury kitchen brand that pays as much attention to the interior of its kitchens as to the exterior, combining high-quality products with cutting-edge design.

Projects shown on the site include a Schüller kitchen in eucalyptus cabinetry paired with Seashell White units, and another Schüller installation combining Seashell White cabinetry with a Blue Grey island.

How a project is handled

The company sets out a five-stage process for each commission:

  • Getting to know the client, which the company describes as the starting point of the relationship.
  • Design, translating the client's vision into a scheme.
  • Construction, carried out with its German partners.
  • Installation, fitted by the company's own fitters.
  • Finishing touches, covering the additional details at the end of the job.

Kitchens are ordered to each client's specification, and the site states a lead time of six to eight weeks for the ordering process. According to the company, this allows greater versatility in meeting specific design requirements or unusual installation needs.

The team behind the showrooms

The business lists a team spanning management, design, showroom administration and installation. Mark Butler is Managing Director and Liam Butler is Design Director; Amy Skidmore is Showroom Manager and Georgie Butler provides office support. Designers named are Sophie Askew, Cristine Atkinson and Simon Mayor, and the fitting team comprises Mark Carradus, Don Crinion and Paul Ridley.

Showroom changes and recognition

The site announced that in early November Butler Interiors would move from Bentham to Lane House Business Park, joining its next125 South Lakes Concept Store a short walk away. It also reported the opening of the next125 Concept Store on 9 April and a win at the Designerati Awards 2026, where Liam Butler took part in an industry roundtable before the company received the Best Value Kitchen Design Award.
