Haven Kitchens

Haven Kitchens: fitted kitchen design and manufacturing in Cornwall and Devon

Haven Kitchens is an independent, family-owned kitchen company that designs and builds kitchens for homeowners in Cornwall, Devon and the wider South West. The brand was founded in August 2024 and operates as part of the HBH Woolacotts family, a local business established in 1976 that sells and services household electrical products through nine shops in the two counties. Haven Kitchens presents itself as a young brand backed by more than 50 years of industry experience and the reputation of that parent company.

The company describes its approach as centred on how customers live and use their space, working closely with them from design through to installation. It states that no project is considered too large or too small for its team of designers.

Three kitchen ranges made in the South West

Haven Kitchens structures its offer around three distinct product ranges, all described as made in the South West and intended to cover different tastes and budgets:

• Pure: presented as stylish, high-quality kitchen designs at budget-friendly prices, aimed at an affordable yet quality build.
• Haven: the core range, with an extensive selection of styles and colours intended to let customers create a kitchen reflecting their own taste.
• Williams & Sons: positioned as the company's hand-made offer, described as embodying British craftsmanship and aimed at bespoke, luxurious projects.

The company states that its locally manufactured kitchens carry 10 or 25 year guarantees depending on the range.

Kitchens combined with appliances under one roof

A distinctive element of the model is the integration of kitchen retail with appliance retail. Because Haven Kitchens belongs to HBH Woolacotts, its showrooms operate inside that company's electrical stores under what it calls a "Kitchen Centre" concept, combining kitchen displays with appliances. The company presents this as an advantage over kitchen retailers that treat appliance selection separately, and describes its team's expertise as spanning both kitchens and electrical appliances. HBH Woolacotts itself sells and services televisions, kitchen appliances, washing machines and vacuum cleaners, offers free delivery in Cornwall and Devon, and provides installation and repair services.

Five showrooms across the region

Haven Kitchens operates five showrooms, all located within HBH Woolacotts stores:

• St Austell: at The Valley Retail Park, described as born from a retail concept combining electrical and kitchen specialists under one roof.
• Plymouth: in Coypool retail park, Plympton; the largest of the kitchen showrooms, with a broad selection of kitchens and appliances.
• Barnstaple: at Brannams Retail Park, Roundswell; opened in October 2025 and offering kitchen displays complete with appliances.
• Liskeard: on Pike Street; kitchen designs can be browsed during normal opening hours, with design consultations by appointment only.
• Bodmin: on Fore Street; showcases contemporary and traditional fitted kitchens, with design consultations by appointment only.

Installation through a referral network

Rather than employing installation crews directly, Haven Kitchens works with a network of trusted local tradespeople on a referral basis. The company states that it connects customers with contractors it believes share a similar commitment to customer service, covering work from a simple dry-fit installation to a complete remodel. Customers who use one of these recommended installers are told they can have confidence in the contractor's standards.

Design process and customer service

The company emphasises an expert design process, attention to detail and customer service, and states that a project is not considered complete until the customer is fully satisfied. It invites prospective customers to book a design appointment and, at the time the site was reviewed, advertised a free kitchen appliance voucher worth up to £1000 with a new Haven kitchen, subject to terms and conditions. It also publishes a brochure and a portfolio of projects alongside information on how it works and its installation process.
