About Anglia Car Auctions
Anglia Car Auctions: vehicle auctions from a King's Lynn base
Anglia Car Auctions is a family-run auction house operating from a two-acre site at the Cattlemarket, on the Hardwick Narrows Industrial Estate just off the Hardwick roundabout in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The company was founded in 1995 and describes itself as offering a friendly, professional and competitive service for buying and selling modern and classic vehicles. Its sales draw consignments from motor traders, collectors and private individuals, and bidding can be done online or in person.
Weekly modern car auctions
The catalogue covers previously owned vehicles of all ages consigned by private individuals, car dealerships, car traders and finance companies. A recent sale listed a 2010 Jaguar XF S Premium Luxury V6 Auto, a 2013 Peugeot 3008 Allure HDi and a 2018 Vauxhall Mokka X Active EcoTec S/S, and included a selection of main dealer part-exchanges from Taylors Motor Group alongside entries from Wrights Motors, East Bilney Garage and Just Audi/VW, plus 2021–2023 Volvo XC90s offered on behalf of National Highways. Some lots were marked as available to "Buy now".
Classic car and motorcycle sales
Classic car auctions began in 2005 and are held five times a year, with viewing days in the week leading up to each sale. The house notes that it is one of the few auction houses running a "drive through" classic sale rather than presenting cars from a static position, and the entire auction is filmed and can be watched live on YouTube. Beyond cars, these sales also include commercial vehicles, 4x4s and motorhomes. The November classic auction was scheduled for Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, with catalogue entries such as a 2002 Bentley Arnage R, a 2006 BMW Z4 SE and a 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce, and estimates ranging from £9,000–£12,000 to £35,000–£40,000.
Automobilia, registration numbers and special sales
Separate sales cover automobilia and registration plates. The automobilia auction on Saturday 7 November included ten American number plates, a Seagull 1.5 horsepower outboard motor, assorted American plates and dealer signs. Registration numbers are handled through dedicated auctions, with entries invited for a sale on Sunday 8 November. The house also runs a "Special Sale — Everything but the car", for which entries are invited, and holds in-house valuation days seeking items ranging from designer accessories and fine jewellery to vintage timepieces and unique collectables, with time slots bookable in advance.
Buying, selling and consignment services
The site sets out separate routes for selling a modern car, a classic, automobilia, registration numbers or special items, and for registering to bid. Auction catalogues are published online for each sale, and results are archived by category: classic cars and motorcycles, modern cars, marketplace, modern classics, special sale, and automobilia and registration plates. A calendar of classic auctions is also maintained. The company operates a marketplace for classics and scheduled a marketplace classics sale for 5 December.
Location and charity support
The premises are at The Cattlemarket, Beveridge Way, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE30 4NB. Anglia Car Auctions states that it supports the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund, which provides practical, financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer or leukaemia, and that it raises funds and collects donations for the charity throughout the year.
