About Jeremy Wise Surveyors

Chartered surveyors serving the Home Counties since 1988

Jeremy Wise Surveyors is a practice of Chartered Surveyors that provides property surveying and valuation services for residential property. The firm operates from offices in Kettering, Milton Keynes, St Albans and Northampton, and its coverage area includes Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. The practice states that it only employs experienced and fully qualified Chartered Surveyors.

According to the company, its first office opened in Northampton in 1992, with further offices added in Milton Keynes, Kettering and St Albans as the practice expanded. The firm describes its approach as enthusiastic and hands-on, and points to its in-depth knowledge of the local area as a factor in keeping the process as quick as possible.

Residential surveys and RICS valuations

The firm offers a range of domestic surveys. Among the services described is the RICS Homebuyer Report and Valuation, intended for houses built after 1840. The report uses a traffic-light grading system to indicate property condition: grade 1 or Green for no problem, grade 2 or Amber for needs attention but not urgently, and grade 3 or Red for an urgent or serious problem that needs immediate attention. The service includes an open market valuation and a rebuilding insurance valuation assessment, as well as an annotated appendix with photographs highlighting the issues identified.

Jeremy Wise Surveyors also carries out RICS valuation work. The firm states that all its surveyors are RICS Registered Valuers and are therefore qualified to undertake valuations for a range of purposes, including buying or selling, staircasing through a Housing Association shared ownership scheme, paying off a loan through the government's Help to Buy scheme, and for tax, lease extension, probate or matrimonial purposes.
