About Hoar Cross Hall

Hoar Cross Hall, a spa hotel in rural Staffordshire

Hoar Cross Hall is a reimagined Jacobean family house in the Staffordshire countryside that now operates as a spa hotel and resort. The property sits within grounds the site describes as thousands of acres, and combines overnight accommodation, an extensive spa, dining and event spaces. It is part of Hiddenwell, a collection of spa and hotel escapes that also includes Eden Hall Day Spa in Nottinghamshire and Ardencote Manor Spa Hotel in Warwickshire.

The resort presents itself as award-winning and states that its spa is among the largest state-of-the-art spas in Europe. Alongside the spa, it lists stylish bedrooms, spectacular grounds and decadent dining as the core of the guest experience.

Spa facilities and the Spa Terrace

The spa is organised into several distinct areas, each built around a different way of slowing down.

  • Spa Terrace: an outdoor space with heated spa pools, cold barrels, a Juniper Log Sauna, fire pits and a relax room, described as included in every spa day or spa stay.
  • Nordic Heat & Ice: a circuit of saunas, a salt steam room, an ice shower, an aromatherapy room and loungers.
  • Saltwater Pool: mineral-rich water with massage jets, heated loungers and hot tubs.
  • The Sanctum: an indoor sanctuary with a pool, hanging pods, loungers and floating pool hammocks.
  • The Sound Sanctuary: an immersive sound journey with relaxation beds, soft lighting and nature-inspired soundscapes.
  • The Element Experience: a thermal journey built around earth, water, air and fire, with a crystal steam room, infrared sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, Finnish sauna, glacial ice fountain and drench shower.

Spa days, twilight sessions and stays

The spa programme is structured around three formats. Spa Days cover a full day of pool and spa access with something to eat, whether booked solo or for two. Twilight Spa sessions take place in the evening, combining warm pools, spa time and food over a few hours. Spa Stays extend the visit into an overnight or weekend break, with time to unwind, dine and sleep before repeating the routine.

The site also promoted a limited-edition autumn experience called Hiddenwell's Root & Restore, advertised with savings of up to £20 per person. It centres on the Hiddenwell Resurge Head Ritual by VOYA, a 60-minute treatment, and is bookable as either a spa stay or a spa day.

Food and drink

Dining is split between two venues. The Ballroom holds two AA Rosettes and serves formally presented dishes, while Hugo's offers a more relaxed lunch. Afternoon tea and private dining are also listed among the food and drink options.

Membership, gift cards and events

A spa membership gives access to the facilities and exercise classes, positioned as a way to make swimming, sauna and steam part of a regular routine. Gift cards and e-vouchers can be redeemed against spa days and stays, treatments and afternoon teas, with a starting value of £50.

The venue also hosts meetings, events and weddings, and publishes information on its history and nearby local attractions.

Part of the Hiddenwell group

Hoar Cross Hall is one of three Hiddenwell destinations. Eden Hall is presented as an award-winning day spa in the heart of Nottinghamshire, while Ardencote Manor Spa Hotel is located in Warwickshire. The group frames its offer around spa escapes, food and hospitality for overnight stays, catch-ups, celebrations or time alone.
