Plants of Distinction

Plants of Distinction: seeds for kitchen and cutting gardens

Plants of Distinction is a Suffolk-based seed supplier trading online at plantsofdistinction.co.uk. Its catalogue is built around flower seeds and vegetable seeds, with a separate section for plants and bulbs. The company presents its range as a source of "new, unusual, heritage and heirloom flowers and vegetables", aimed at gardeners working from a kitchen garden to a cutting garden.

Flower seeds

The flower catalogue is organised both alphabetically (Flowers A-Z) and by themed groupings. Among the categories listed are new and featured flowers, cosmos, half-hardy annuals, hardy annuals, pansy and viola, perennial and biennials, poppies, sweet peas, zinnia, antirrhinum, stocks, China aster, sunflowers, flowers for drying, edible flowers, fancy foliage, baskets and tubs, and cutting flowers.

Individual listings in the shop include named varieties with catalogue numbers and pack sizes, such as Antirrhinum Double Shot Appleblossom F1 (50 seeds), Helianthus Pro-Cut White Lite F1 (20 seeds), Pansy Chianti Mixed (25 seeds), Phlox Drummondii Creme Brulee (200 seeds), Papaver Storm Clouds (300 seeds), Wallflower Ruby Gem (250 seeds), Nasturtium Rambling Rose (30 seeds), Sweet Pea David Tostevin (15 seeds), Cosmos Soda Pop Mix (100 seeds) and Viola Caramel Lilac Bronze (25 seeds).

Vegetable seeds and edible crops

The vegetable side of the catalogue covers peas and beans, herbs, leafy greens, new and featured vegetables, onions and garlic, peppers, root vegetables, salad crops, tomatoes and squash, alongside an alphabetical Vegetables A-Z index. The range is presented as complementing the flower selection for growers who want to raise their own plants from seed.

Plants and bulbs

Beyond seed packets, the shop lists a Plants & Bulbs section that includes anemones, ranunculus and tulips. One example shown in the catalogue is Tulip Amazing Grace & Copper Image (catalogue 8681, pack of 10 bulbs).

Buying from the catalogue

Products can be added to a basket directly from the listings, and the shop offers sorting by most recent, price (highest or lowest), product name A-Z or Z-A, and catalogue number. Gift vouchers appear as a category under both the flower and vegetable sections. The site also provides pages for About, Contact, Delivery, Privacy and Terms & Conditions.
