About Keep in Touch (Kit)

Keep in Touch (Kit): residential VoIP built on Fidelity Group's hosted telephony

Keep in Touch, trading as Kit, is a residential telephony service operated within Fidelity Group Ltd, a telecommunications reseller whose main activity is business telecoms solutions. Kit takes that hosted telephony experience and applies it to the home market, offering a product designed to migrate domestic phone lines from analogue technology to the cloud. The service is aimed at households that want to keep their existing landline number while moving their calls onto an internet connection.

The company presents its proposition as a business-grade solution for the home market without the cost structure of large network providers. It also frames the move to digital voice as a response to the planned switch-off of the traditional landline in 2027, which it cites as the reason for enabling home phones to work over the internet.

The Kit range: three ways to connect

Kit sells its residential service through three packages, each aimed at a different level of hardware and mobility.

  • Kit Virtual — transfers a landline number to a virtual service that can divert calls directly to a UK mobile. It is priced at £4.80 monthly, with diversion to UK mobile numbers described as free and other numbers varying by location. The package is presented as a way to save on line rental.
  • Kit Hub — keeps an existing home phone working over the internet through a hub device. It costs £11.00 monthly plus a £25 delivery and activation fee, and is described as compatible with the customer's existing home phone.
  • Kit Pro — includes the Kit Hub plus unlimited UK mobile calls and a mobile app for making and receiving calls from a phone. It costs £15.00 monthly plus a £25 delivery and activation fee and works on Android and iOS devices.

The packages are presented as a range from which customers choose according to whether they want a virtual number, a hub for a traditional handset, or added mobile calling and app features.

Switching a landline number to Kit

The service is built around number portability: customers can transfer their existing home landline number to Kit and use it either on a mobile device or on their current home phone. Calls travel over broadband, Wi-Fi or a mobile connection. Kit explains that home phone lines historically carried home internet, but fibre upgrades now deliver broadband separately, leaving the phone line used only for voice. Its VoIP service is positioned as a way to retain the number and reduce costs in that context.

On the technical side, Kit describes IP telephony as using an internet connection to make high-definition calls from various internet-enabled devices, including a current landline phone, a mobile phone or a tablet.

Installation, porting and billing details

Kit states that installation and transfer of an existing number can take up to 15 working days. When a customer brings a number across, the Kit hub is sent 48 hours before the number ports so the service can be running on the day of transfer, and a remote install team is available to guide the installation. The service works over any internet connection.

Customers are told to inform their old supplier about the cancellation or transfer, and Kit contacts that supplier as well when the number is being moved. The existing service should not be terminated until the number has been ported, to avoid losing it, and any direct debits with the previous provider should be cancelled. For customers moving home, Kit advises updating account information, including emergency services contact details, and ensuring broadband is available at the new address.

Billing starts on the 5th of the month following activation and runs in monthly cycles. The accepted payment method is direct debit only.

Support and business context

Kit provides a support contact by phone and email, and its site includes portal logins for managing bills and two hub products, identified as Phoneline+ and Altos. It also publishes terms and conditions, a privacy policy and a code of practice. The service sits alongside Fidelity Group's business telecoms activity, and the company states that Kit is developed with that group's knowledge of hosted telephony.
